In a book that i read the guy said that it was a very bad habit to keep your hand on your mouse when playing.Because if you dont have your hand on it while you are reaching it will give you a little moment to thing.

I thing by experience that this is a very good advice like magician said hand is faster then the eyes.
Unfortunately i very often forget this and pay for. Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

i dont think that this makes a different...!
my experience is that i take more time now to think about the next move befor i make it.
as a beginner i was playing much to fast without thinking about things like: board texture
bet sizing the aktion befor me or position because i don't had a clue about that.
for me that makes really a different !

cheers Spade

the fact that one keep his hand on his mouse all the time when he's playing poker really is a bad habit, basically what it means is that he cannot choose which is more important to him: playing poker or jerking off, so he tries to accomplish both...not a good thing to do, since you can make mistakes like folding AA's when aroused or broking your stick/mouse when you lose with those AA's against 26o.

When multitabling you can't do this, but then by the time that you get to playing several tables at the same time, you should be able to make a lot of moves without having to dwell on them. IMO when you need the extra time just take it and make your decision.

I suppose it makes sense to take a little time before making a decision but i always believe that your first thought is the best on so you shouldnt overthink too many decisions and go along with your gut feeling whether you are right or wrong
