How do you play pocket 9's   0
I have lost multiple hands with pocket 9's and I feel like I am doing the whole pre-flop wrong.

I generally raise but am thinking that I should just call and hope for my golden triple.

So how to play pocket 7´s thru 9´s

Any thoughts?

I fold them.

Not always you should raise with small pocket pairs, and of course you should never reraise or call a previous raise...

If you have position is good to raise, if you hit trips on the flop you can definately extract more value Smile

Yes, I fold pocket 7's and pocket 9's most of the time preflop because when I have these cards I am almost sure that the opponet has a higher pockets or he has just monster hands like AQ or higher.

Because those pockets doesn't win so may times at PokerStars. It is just a trick to go all in preflop and to be elliminated from the tournament. It happened to me, so I prefer to fold it preflop and I am safe.

I prefer to go all in with pocket 3's or 4'. I win more with these:

These are very good starting hands.
Very strong when you play short stacked.
Just don´t overplay them postflop when you play deepsacked.

On the button and the CO I raise with them. Late and middle I will call or fold depending what happens before and after and early and UTG I will either limp and call depending on the actions after or just fold.

Just in case the sarcasm was missed, I don't fold them.
And anyone who folds for fear of someone having a higher PP is stupid - there are lost of hands like AJs+ that will raise and call a reraise. All about flop texture. And hitting trips on any flop against a big PP or something like AK is going to get you paid.

preflop call, and let it go if theres big action going on.. or if there are too many overcards. its easy really Tongue

I try to see the flop cheaply,if i hit a set great if not be careful and lat them go if it's a high flop and someone's being aggressive.

I will always ante up with 9s...as long as it's not too expensive to do so, in hopes of hitting trips.... If you are in position, and the possibilty of heads up is at hand,...then I will slightly raise...

It's not too hard to beat 9s... You just have to be cautious!

I have a BIGGER problem playing jacks... They're powerful enough that you WANT to raise them,...but they get you in trouble more times than not...! Confused

I always play them slowly and just call and hope to hit the set. I stick to this rule all the time and i have no problem laying them down if i do not hit the set. These hands look good but can get you into a lot of trouble. No Set No Bet!!

Not if you play them right. I just won with them and managed to double up my chip count on that EPT freeroll on stars when I had decent position.

I play them almost always. If I am first to talk I usually just call and let the other opponents talk to decide what to do. If the raise wasn't too high, I call and see if the flop is good for me. If I am one of the latest too talk I usually give it a raise if things aren't too high. I do this so I can make another big bet when talking after the flop. Even if there's a 10 or a J, I feel confident enough to do it and my opponents usually believe my strength. Cool

Play them very aggressive.

Tricky, but simple too. Early to mid always fold 77. As for 88 n 99 If no one calling or raising before you, raise with them. If you get realised ....fold. The later on in the hand be more aggressive with them. Be ready to fold against strength but give them a go.
