How good are mobbits these days?  0
I'm a bit new here and I want to ask an experienced mobbit how good the players are here? Are there some pro's here?
It's useful that I can decide if the comment is written by a pro or some amateur (not meaned negative).

I think I can say I'm not a beginner anymore but I'm definitely not a pro. In low stake's tourneys I usually end up somewhere between 20-5%.

Well, there are a few pros. and i myself am i pro-losing micro player. i lose like a pro :/

but yea most people here arent real 'pros' that make tribilions on poker, but we do have quite a few regular winning players and many more with hopes to become semi-pro or whatever in the future Tongue

also, we really, really like turtles.

Thanks for the information apple! I have a turtle, so that's great to hear!!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Worship Big Smile

I have one question though: could you name them so I know them?

Mostly recreational players who play for fun.

Most of them are breakeven/little losing (without rakeback and bonuses) micro/low stakes players.

Yeah i think there are some good players out there, they are blogging so it will be easy to find out, as for me I am a losing player mainly due to tilt and don't have time to study much about poker. So i just play for fun and hope for the best from the poker god. But i can give you advice that i do not follow. Like reading about poker , watching poker videos, getting work done on your mental game, finding a coach etc/

Anyway good luck in your poker journey!

hey mobbit pascal, we have only a few mobbits who are real pro's, to be specific the are: Peter & Flangel...they do however visit this site very rarely (since they have full pockets of cash and don't feel like spending spending their time on useless posts).

Thats the way to ruin some fun, apple!

Btw theres a reason why every other topic here is around some handhistory which happened in a free.roll (4 as Im concerned no real consequence could be made based on any hand from any free.roll) or at some micro limit table.
Most of us are recreational players here, playing p.oker as a hobby, dont care about the outcome as much as somebody who spends real time and effort learning and developing his skills and analysing every move he made that went wrong.
I barely play at the two big p.oker room, Im mostly at big b.etting sites (with p.oker softwares) where theres enough gambler but not too many skilled player.
Altough Im playing some BRM frees at PS nowadays to get used to the software again (in time for the easter game) Im not planning on going hardcore and taking up more of my time to develop (card) skills I know I never going to use - Im alright with where I am.
There are some folks in this site who could help if you ask for serious advices but the majority of us dont dream about playing at the WSOP, nor loosing a couple months worth of our earnings to Viktor Bloom.

I think that the vast majority of people on here are just recreational players. But if you read the forum for long enough you will see that there are quite a few knowledgeable players on here. Its just deciphering the wheat from the chaff

im not recreational player !!! I play almost every day, in fact i play at least 4 times a week!

Big Smile

well i did start like totally hooked up and played a few sessions par day, til the end of last month when i kinda started feeling... idk, jaded while playing poker so i decided to take a break and now i just play a session or two every now and then, until i decide i want to start play seriously again. For some reason i just couldnt find motivation to keep on playing day and day out, i think that zoom thing that can be really mean at times is one to blame for my break :=)

i never actually lost any money on online poker, in fact i started with just $20 on stars and got to almost $200 plus i even transfered some to ftp so its not that i was losing money, could it be that saying 'too much of anything is bad' or whatever... idk?

but zoom can really make you feel like a s**t, day and day out, and i guess i wanted to take a break from feeling like a s**t ? Big Smile it takes a while to get some cash then you run into someone who hits his runner runner 2 outers to lose ur deepstack u built from (my starting is usually $1,42, so i go down to 1,40 after first bb lol). Once i got to $13 from $1,42 and lost it in 2 hands vs hands like 47o who hit 4 on both turn and river lol

i guess the bad thing about zoom is.. once you have hand like that, you have no time to 'stop' feeling like a s**t, and u just keep on grinding, it all happens too fast so i have decided ill play just normal tables once i start playing again.

btw idk why am i even talking about it here, but hey... even if im not playing that much poker lately i suppose i can still talk about it Smile

moral of the story
stay away from zoom. its evil, pure evil. i was making money on it, and i still think its evil. Evil

I dont want to sound like a debby downer, but by playing zoom you are giving up any kind of edge that you can get over your opponents.
You cant discover their tells, how they sizing their bets when they have a hand nor anything that would be informative when you are playing a long session and you want to win money from them.
You are even cant see their showdowns after they raise you out of a pot.
You literally there to reraise then shove anytime you got AA, AK, KK, KQ or QQ. Thats it.
Its not very profitable on a really long run, since your opponents will know what you do.
I advised you at the other topic to try to play wider range from early pos, but thats the thing - to take down some middle sized pot with an overpair or some suited connector you will need somebody to buy your semi-bluffs - and you wont have that on zoom, but sitting there to await your monster to get eaten by another players monster (or some russian wunderkids 72o) is just stressfull and unnecessary.

well its not entirely true you cant get any info on your opponents. When i was playing seriously, i would regularly review my session (not all hands, just some of the most interesting ones, mostly) and also, thats what notes are for Smile So, you could get notes, but still, with a twist... sort of. Either way, you had notes, but there was a catch ... :/

when theres heavy action on my table, i dont just walk away but pause that table and take notes right there (even before my review) but i suppose i could do that because i was only 4 tabling (i suspect that would be a nightmare for someone 12 tabling or more , lol).

But i do have different notes for aggro, donks, regs, lags, aggro donks, uberdonks, and finally, hyperdonks (that guy that called my AA shove with 47o when he was $7 deep, and won ofc) :=P

also i was taking notes on people who 3bet pf too often, but afterall i did realize good old bowie has a point... most of my notes were for nothing.
It was rare to run into someone twice, let alone more times to actually have some use of ur notes - other than taking advantage of people who had like 80% pf 3bet lol, there really was no much use of all my hard work.

was rare to run into someone multimple times, so what are chances to run into someone you have lots of notes on, AND for both of you to hit something to be able to use my notes... it almost never happened, so i kinda stopped doing it and lost interest in zoom and playing poker altogether. So i decided to take a break and play normal tables in the future.

thanks for your input bowie, as usual its much appreciated. afterall, im still fresh to this online poker world so any advice i can get (for free Big Smile) is golden.

These were just my two cents.
I sort of did the same as you (altough I mostly played Zoom - or the equivalent - at the old Uni.bet site) since there was always a familiar kind of playerpool there every night (consisted around 200-300 players just on Zoom) and I thought if I can get any info during long run, I'll definitely manage to make money on them (I focused only the players who are doubled or tripled down their initial buy-in already).
The energy I put into it didnt have as great rewards as I expected and I realized I dont like to get re-seated on every other hand. I like to see some showdowns on real time, trolling on chat or by slow play, gathering infos card by card and so on.
Zoom just isnt for me.

I can vouch for all of that. Zoom seems to be more luck orientated than skill and probably shows why idiot callers win more than you do.

won over 3 dollars today, I feel like pro right now. We will see tomorrow.
