High Stakes: Phil "OMGClayAiken"Galfond Wins $1.1M In 4 Days  0
Sure hes not crying out loud, the rake from these stakes only could be on par with some microsized countrys GDP.
Why im not suprised that wherever Viktor Bloom is playing theres a buttload of gold can be found. Just look at the end of the rainbow!

You would never think that Phil Galfond is a top poker player when he is on television. He comes across as very laid back and you would think that you could take advantage of him on the tables, how wrong can you be!!

As far as I know the rake is capped, that means every pot if it is bigger than for example 100$ is raked with the same amount of money as a 50k$ pot.

Yeah I know, but the numbers still add up, since they play countless amount of pots during their sessions. And most of them have different rake.back deals than the average player Im sure (not counting all the sweet sponsor deals at the side).

It's good to see that Phil made a come back, he really needed it since he dropped significantly lately...

I have no idea why he doesn't resume to play PLO and just that, he is really a master of that game, he is even better than on NLHE Smile

I'm pretty sure that we will see more of him now.

I used to think these high stakes guys were insanely good at poker - and yeah they are VERY good. BUT, when it gets to these stakes variance is such a massive factor - that's why you get guys like Phil dropping over a million and then regaining it, skill seems to be a secondary factor in some ways.

He is good, I like him as a player but I love all the other players too because you have to have at least two players playing to make it poker. So fun to watch the best fighting against the best. There are some good youtube videos out there out of big events that are a must watch. Go check them out!

You are right, they play very lot of pots, so the numbers add up.

But still paying less rake per one dollar in pot.

But those $544k are still around 8% of the $7.6M, which means it is a considerable value, although not enough to be crying out loud. Can he recover fast? Of course he can! Can he lose even more? He just showed he can also do that, so, we just have to wait and see what's going to happen next on Phil Galfond's game...

He is an awesome player.

I have watched one cash game commentary from him and it was pure gold.
