SNG satellites to major tournaments   0

Hi I have some questions and I would like to know if you have any

strategy for playing satellite tournaments to enter a big tournament.

Maybe ... since the WSOP are approaching ..!

or Sundy Millon or some similar online tournament.

For me today it is impossible to play a tournament of more than $ 100.

Much less could pay a buy-in of $ 1,000 or something like that.

I think Satellites are a valid alternative;

but not how to play them.

Thanks in advance for their Contributions

It can be a good alternative, because a lot of bad players are playing the satellites.

So you can get your ticket cheaper than if you would pay for it right away.

I look forward to reading the posts that should appear in this thread s I too would appreciate a view as to how such games should be played, as I have used different approaches and had different results, like the same aggressive approach being successful in one game, yet unsuccessful in another.

I asked a similar question a long time ago and the best advice i got was to not waste a single chip and attack the players who are wasting chips by call folding.

Well if they are low fpps to get into the satellite or equivalent currency I will play crazy and if i won a stack and double up I would sit back and play normally and put pressure otherwise i'll just go crazy at the start with any hands.

That is my strategy for low satellites that costs nothing to enter for others I will play smart and play like I am playing a huge tourney so with care and play tight early and so on.

Anyway good luck and have fun at the tables!

i won in past few times ticket to dubleduce on ftb think buy in is just 9cents or even ftp can get u seat at tournament.

did not played dubleduce i unregister and took 22$ u can do that as well

when playn this kind of tournaments its just like freerolls .many donks need to be tight agressive and spot weak players

If you don't know how to play them, involving ICM (the latter should be basic knowledge), and you are asking for a general play how to play them, you shouldn't be playing tourneys of that buy in range at all.

I got the the bubble with one rebuy and one addon for a sunday million ticket, only tried once and almost got it....it was easy

Play tight aggressive poker wait for monster hands and attack if your still alive and at or near the bubble then i would only play AA K K GL Cool Cool Blink Blink

I play a few satellites now and then, you've got to watch how much you spend in them, as if you rebuy or add-on too much you would be as well buying in direct.

Everyone here giving ANY advice is just wrong.. Giving anyone an advice without any extra information is false advice.. you can't just say by default "I play x% of hands at the beginning and later I play x% of hands", any of such answers is bad because there's a lot more info needed to provide correct advice - what buy in are we playing in and what tourney do we try to qualify for (to estimate how many players will win a seat),what's the structure (freezout/rebuy/3x turbo rebuy/SNG sat), and then especially for endgame of a satellite there's no rule-of-thump play, there are so many different situations that we can fall into. There are spots where we should be shoving any2 cards, there are also spots where we should fold AA preflop.

Really why does someone come here asking for advice on how to qualify for the biggest tourneys around when they have yet to learn basic-poker-knowledge?
And why does he, to make it worse, get false advice when there should be no advice be given in this thread in the first place?
Aww crap!

love BeMy's posts on the subject of poker- he really keeps a cool head.
i wanna ask him this: do you recommend playing rebuy satellites, imo they are a great way to lower the rake significantly even without being supernova and such... i.e.: $1.10 rebuy sat to $11 tourney- you can do a rebuy from the start or do a double rebuy later and then do add-on once rebuy period is over... you pay nothing additionally on the rebuys/addon... so lets count, if you make a couple of rebuys and do an addon... you invest a total of $4.10 ($1.10 bi, $2 rebuys & $1 addon) that's a total rake of only 2.5% (plus everyone gets a rakeback of at least 20%+ so the rake goes down even to 2%)... your thoughts on this?

I think that satellites are always the way to go when trying to qualify for a major tournament. It is the only way that most people can afford to enter these things but these satellites are extremely difficult to win

Hi all ..!

and thank you very much oppor comments.

I'll try to summarize the points made.

1) Satellites benefit us as there are many bad players.

2) As in most of the formats you have to play aggressive to succeed.

3) In rebuy tournaments paid less commission.
Example: $ 1.1 Input + 4 = $ 5.1 repurchases. That is paid $ 5 entrance and only $ 0.1 of commission. or what is the same 2% commission.

Again thank you all. If I eligo career in these formats will comment the results.

While you're right, I wouldn't really worry about rakeback and the rake at all playing MTTs (also counting MTT-satellites).
Normally the longterm ROI of a halfway-decent player should be up the roof in MTTs, it can just take loads of time to actually get there.
However from what I've heard in the specific case you talk about ($1.10 3x turbo rebuys) there are ROIs of almost 100% possible (I never grinded them seriously, but I used to talk alot with MTT players when I grinded MTTs myself (they like to mix in the 2x and 3x turbo rebuys to fill up tables if they don't like to mix MTTs with MTSNGs)), so longterm the rakeback you get from them should be just a super small fraction of what you actually make.
One thing I'd recommend though and what even MTT-regs do wrong - in 3x rebuys when the blinds get very high, always single rebuy, there's no need to spend the money for a double stack because a double stack will often not really improve your situation. You can get more chips if you win a showdown, however considering your stack-to-blinds-ratio it's just not worth it. better single rebuy each time until you can buy the add-on.

thanks to all for your input I will have in mind the

time to carry out my campaign in satellite tournaments.

And what motivates me to play more there is that I'll find me with weak players and maniacs ready to play no matter who your chips with 2 cards.

I speak of what rebuy satellites.
