Cash game strategy?   0
Ok so I'm a fairly experienced MTT and sit and go player. I cash in around 12% of MTT and around 28% of sit and gos, all be it at relatively small stakes. I've been looking at getting into cash games more but when I play them I sometimes feel a bit lost for strategy. I'm generally a LAG. Anyone else had trouble adapting? What's the best plan of action for small stakes cash games?

TAG and ABC poker generally, but I guess LAG works especially against nitty players. Trying any special moves or too many bluffs will be pointless as most micro stakes fish will call you down.

I think that's been my problem, trying complex bluffs and getting called by mid pair and stuff. So is strict TAG the way to go to start with? Obviously at higher stakes it's a different game.

Hi guys, my advice is that at micros you play tight as most other players will tends to play lots of cards and you can load up sveral tables and wait for good cards and make them donate money to you. But if you play 6max, it is better to go semi-tag, loose when needed if the 6 max table is tight or you risk of being bored and only playing for blinds and being too predictable. Anyway cheers and have fun at the tables!!

For small stakes it's definately abc poker, you simply play your cards by the book and nothing more!

Please do not try on small or micro stakes to bluff since always someone with crappy cards will call and get a lucky card in the end lol

Definitely don´t expect, that your opponents will bluff you that often, if they bet like crazy (ovebet on the river when the third spade comes) they usually (99% of the time) have it. If yI experience such obvious sign, that my opponent has a monster hand, I will lay down sets and even straight in certain situation without any hesitation.

in micro stakes two of the most important things to keep in mind are:

1. Your opponent is rarely bluffing. So no hero calls with second pair.
2. Your opponent will almost always think you are bluffing so don't slow playing you'll probably be losing value.

ok, my startegy at cash games is sometime ....hunter type (searching for fish players) but most of the time i analize the table and act when is necesary for a win
U can find u re own rules as long if they are practicable & profitable

I would just keep playing the way you feel comfortable. If you try and change your game too much, you will probably start to over complicate the game and start making mistakes. Good luck to you and keep us updated

In 9max cash games you can play very tight and that's really kind of proved the best way to play. If you don't buy-in with the minimum and there are 9 players at the table playing tight is highly profitable, that's because you don't have to pay a lot of blinds and you have to pay them very few.

If you really want to play loose you can play small-ball poker but than you really have to play good after the flop. This strategie is very proffessional but the main reason why is because you have to play good after the flop and I think you really have to bluff less.

Hope this helped you!

Yeah you can be a nit if the table is loose and that they will call your hands, when you have not raised after several orbits, at the end of the day it all depends on who you playing with, if it is with the fishes then it is easy to make money. Otherwise nitty on a nitty table is useless as you guys will only be exchanging blinds. Anyway good luck and have fun at the tables mobsters!

When a very loose fish is playing, isolate him 3-betting (with your good hands). They will almost always call and fold on scary flops.

Other than that, abc is all you need. Don't try any kind of very elaborated bluff Big Smile

I love playing on very loose fishy tables.

Strategy is simple.Just multitable eight tables or more, play very tight and wait for the best cards and spots to play.
