I can wait for the world cup to start for new betting opportunities though the matches will start at 1am or even 3 am in my country so i guess i would not be able to watch much matches, so if I bet I am gonna have to go blindly, anyway this should be a good world cup and my favorite is for italy to win it!! Worth a punt if you want to follow!

I'll defo be betting on some fo these. I love the top goalscorer bets and long-bets in these tourneys. You mentioned wiating until theres been a few games played: very wise. Because you can't know how teams are set up and fitness level;s etc etc until a few games in.
The way I see it, only a South American team can win. Apart from Spain, I can't see Germany, Portugal or Holland doing much damage and even then I think the likes of Brazil/Uruguay/Argentina etc will be too good.
Hi, I read most of your blogs (at work though, so keep that quiet, lol) with a reasonable bank roll you could try betting total goals in tournament for a "banker", usually the bookies have these numbers pretty close and you can use this to your advantage. Check three or four local and or internet bookies for their values and spread, find the bookie with the lowest total and bet that spread, after the first round or two, during which most goals will be scored, re-bet (normally, but not always, at a different bookie) the high spread, and points in the middle is effectively banked, @ 20-25 Euro a point that should be around 400-500 banked, you can then increase your bets on the final games with more information and potential return. Good luck out there. 3P
It would be interesting to see how fast you could loose €2000. Hit me up for a ticket to that movie. This World Cup going to be a tricky one. The South American weather and the huge distances making all kinds of bets at risk, since we won't know for sure how well rested each team will be. And the goddamn major europian soccer leagues still on - so the players not only don't get a good vacatiuon before training camp, plenty of them will have small injuries left still.

i find that most of the value (as really is often the case) is when betting against the public- that means laying the "obvious" winners, over-under's etc. probably worth taking an outsider or a couple to win the whole thing, and then lay it off when they are in the semis or final... just my two cents. gl to everyone watching and betting

Whenever i bet on the football, like you, my preferred bet is the goals market. This way i can watch the game and dont care who wins as long as there are goals, my bet will be landed

But there are a lot of offers in poker and sport betting next time like tennis grand slam for sport betting or the ice hocke world cup and so on. And for poker you can create a one month poker challenge with your favorite game as a motivation to play.

I agree with your point, but I wouldn't recommend betting on an obvious outsider to win the whole thing.
Yeah agreed - any outsider bet is pointless given the location and strength of a few core teams. Tiredness will play a big part in this WC - think how many top pros are beat the f**k out after such long seasons. Potentially that could give weaker teams a mild edge if their players have played less, but I can't imagine it will.

well to elaborate a bit on the "betting on an outsider to win big" thingy i mentioned in some post above: the whole point in taking such bet is to actually have an exit strategy in place- no one really thinks that north korea is going to win it, but taking such bet before the balls is kicked might offer some value (betting against public opinion is what actually extracts the value)... however this value must be taken asap- say when the underdog goes into the 1/4, 1/2 etc. expecting for some amateurs to win big time is like believing in a fairytale (you know when pretty babes are dreaming of a rich dude with exquisitely shaved balls and with 4 anus whitening operations on-board... or maybe this is a different story.. whatever)

I think the way to win on these outsiders is the 'bet to lay strategy'. This is where you bet on say a 33/1 shot and if they start the tournament well you lay off the bet at reduced odds for at least your stake and you have a no risk bet
