I love PokerStars rules concerning the sit out and i hope that alll the sites would follow the same rules. I just hate seeing a sit out winning the hand when he is all in its just frustrating. to pokerstars.
The rules are that the sit out are identified and their cards are mucked with the first bet even if he is all in.

Just go on poker stars and play any freeroll and you will see how it works
------------ Enclose a copy of an advice when entering a tournament. Note that this is a play money tournament because i did not want to spend money just to see the advice.I am not sure but i suppose it is yhe same for real money.

Posted by Macubaas: Do you mean that someone when is sitting out and he is sb or bb and if another player raises his hand is folded automatically?
If this is the case them other poker sites have it too like full tilt poker or 888poker...
I think it's a fair move if you ask me.
He talking about LAST SB OR BB and the Sitted out player pays the last chips and automatically goes all in and showdown is next. In this Pokerstars case is : Last BB or SB will be folded so no showdown and no looses( you can only win on sitedout player).

First ont the sites you mentionned sit out are not identified and may come back anytime without you know.On pokerstars you can come back but the sit out mention disapper so you know that he is back. Second if you read the advice say that the hand is folded if you dont make a move when you have to.

Hmm if they sitting out their cards are automatically folded so no worries it is like they were never here and you playing a 8 man rather than 8 mans + sitout. So it does not affect many things much just one less player to look for. but if you talking about disconnection then i think they have some more seconds and the hand can take forever if he keeps disconnecting and you will have to raise and hope he time out and automatically folds to win!

yeah agree with op- it's so fcukin frustrating seeing some sit out dude who never comes back keep winning over and over again with total crap... the biggest bullsh1t (i'm talking from my own sh1tty experience) is when you keep putting him all-in but just can't win the showdown... all of the sudden he comes back and goes banana's pressing the all-in button all the time and ends up winning the duel

A simple point made not very well. The points is that where a sit out player is in the big blind, and an opponent calls the big blind, then the big blind will be auto folded; not allowed to play on being checked to the river, where the sit out player may hit a hand without even being there, which does happen on some other sites, where they only fold the sit out big blind if they are raised.

That's a stmart thing to do... But still, on stars and full tilt, I see players winning like 2-3 all ins and only sitting out after that... So it may not solve the problem.

I agree with the OP here, I have seen it and it drives me nuts.....ill even convince the table to all min bet to just see the flop to work more hands against the sitout

I dont know about stars but other sites have similar systems too. The same happens in cake poker also. The silly thing there is, that if you are in the game, playing normally and you have less chips than the blind on your turn, you have to check a box which says call all in. If you dont, you just lose and leave the game. Too silly if you ask me. .... In microgaming if you are sitting out the entire time of the first blind, you are eliminated.
I find it unfair, because since they have paid the buy-in (or just simply registered in a freeroll), they should have the right to play how they want (even just blinding away).

So if i understand well you find fair that peoples register in a poker game knowing that they wont play it. If you dont want to play you dont register.

Some times you are getting registered way before the tournament, or even forgetting about it. I have played many tournaments while i was sit out for a while. The thing microgaming does which eliminates players after the first blind is unfair. Who hasnr been late for like 15-30 minutes in a tournament.

Posted by zeroster: If they've paid their money they are entitled to sit out, no argument. It's no different from being there and actively folding every hand.
I never said they were not entitled to sit out what i say is that their hand should be folded and not able to win a pot i understand that you can do whatever you want with your money if you want to loose its ok with me
