I think that you are correct when saying that players play far too many hands when starting out. You should be patient and wait for good cards when you are still only learning the game

Love those hands and most people know that AA is the best pre flop but be wary and be ready to let it go on the flop if you see huge action going on by several players , like a multi way all in from 5 players, you lose equity and most probably they have better cards than you do. G'day mate

@Heskor - I am glad that you liked the list of the top 20 starting hands.
I have a friend who has been playing for a year and he recently asked me,
"so what really is the best starting hands, I mean any two can win right?"

That is why I posted this list because there are players who just really do not know. Hope this helps someone out.
