Everytime something liek this happens. I know its heads up but come on 62 against a 3 bet. And its always Russians with these crazy plays and they always work, I wouldn't dare to try that i'm not born with russian luck

Posted by IceQueenAce: He raised you and then had odds to call your small re-raise.
His implied odds as well (though prob through luck than judgement) meant when he outflopped you he would take all your chips.
Nah, his preflop call was of course horrible. The reraise size isn't too small, 2.5x with these stacksizes is totally fine. The implied odds are far not good enough to call, based on this math he will by far not flop a hand to stack off often, and to add to that, he won't always get our stack if he does hit a good enough hand. This can be compared with the "investment:effective stack" rule with pocket pairs, just that he'd need even better implieds here.

He is only 64% to win the hand, and put 420 into a 1120 pot, it's not that horrible.
My point though (and admittedly I am grumpy getting fed up with the only thing on this forum seems to be bad beat stories), is that he wasn't that far behind.
I also dislike the whole racist 'blame the russian' culture we see constantly on this forum.
Maybe it is time for me to leave.
------------ It wouldn't be so bad if it was a proper hand to digest, someone posting a hand (maybe even one they have won), of how they could play it better.
But this is nothing more than a 'oh look I had AKs and got busted' bad beat thread.

I'm not racist, I've seen good russian players as well, but the majority of these types of hands its a russian that gets so lucky, and thats because there are just so many of them. And I don't always post bad beats. Look down a couple of posts . Most of my posts are winning hands or winning tourneys I think.
And I don't aggree, imo beMyATMplz is right, the times he's gonna get a big pot with those types of hands is just to small to invest it and the reraise isn't small its pretty standard.
With hands like suited connectors or suited one gappers etc, I would have actually called it a good play.

Haha heads up has the most variance as sometimes you are focred to go all in with 62 for example or even 72 hoping he folds, but it never works as he just calls when we push our weak hands and when we push AA or KK, they tends to folds and we get peanuts lol. Anyway good luck on the heads up games, you should play hyper if you can deal wth swings, hyper sngs that is, because you will get less rake, so less games to be won to be break even, % of games to be won will be less. So you can afford some spew there and here but be wary of tilt and have a solid mental game for swings!

I come across these hands sometimes but even though it is HU I would never play a hand like that. Then again what could he possibly have when he pushed on the flop? Shouted more then a single pair to me. UL though.

Yes I agree there is something about the Russians and always getting these in the end.....alot of them just play so stupid and then get lucky. I do not dislike Russians but its the Russian plays I dislike. I am Canadian Born but full Russian blood....I play how you should play, not like a donk. Now that being said alot of times I like to see the flop HU as it goes one way or another doesn't matter which 2 cards you have.....I would have shoved post flop seeing I have 2 pair on the board.
