Yeah !! That part of the vodka drinking may be the answer to why do they win? No doubt there some good russian poker players but lots of them play just like if they are drunk calling every single hand ;going allin with nothing and no poker skills Ithink they play poker just like a lottery just bet and wait for lady luck

If it's food related then with russians it's definately vodka...
Every country has it's good and bad players but in general russians are not good players, if you play poker as bingo it does not mean that you are a good poker player, you ruin the game, thats all.

Back to the main question, without jokes now:
I guess that you could make up player types acording to their country and financial state, does that make sense? For example, let's take my country, Portugal: Economy isn't so great here so , people that decide to play poker, are more tight because they have less money? DDoes that make sense? Following the train of though, Germany, that is doing pretty good has more loose players? This may be true for some cases even though there are a lot of excetions (I include myself in one of these exeptions). Does this make any sense?

Haha yeah it can be fun to class how players play from what they eat, but most likely it would not work as this is just for fun banter and food cannot be related to how somebody plays lol. But for me i always thought that Russians are more aggressive but it was not true, there are just a higher proportion than play aggressively and i was unfortunate to meet them most of teh time and the one who i could beat was fishes and does played under average. Hope you guys get the point

No because they are so Good in Poker. But if they are because they are good at chess:
It is so cold it gets there, instead of having physical education in school have chess and 20 million children, one has to be good.
out of jokes I would like to know why the Russians are so good
It's so funny when argentinian jokes about russian education. Russians are very reckless. They often play to get a thrill, not for money. You know there is a game "russian roulette"? If you have at least one chance - probably you can win.... or die I think Twistyoursou's point about financial state is more like be truth.

hi, I completely agree with Twistyoursou, I do not think you can identify a player for the food of his country or what drink in their country of origin, so if you can identify the difference between players of countries with good economies and countries with economies in crisis, for example to a Venezuelan it is more painful to lose $ 50 than a Russian, because in Venezuela the dollar is very expensive, that way if I think we can qualify the players by country .

Same here in portugal Losing 50€ is like 1/10 of most people's wage so it's huge. Someone in swiss thoug, losing 50 franks is like 1/100 of their minimum wage so it's just change. Of course this rule has massive amounts of exceptions.

Good Friends have been researching the subject and have found some information.
I have a summary of the profile of European countries:
Sweden: aggressive and liberal. Sweden was one of the first countries that experienced the online poker boom.
Germany: The Germans on poker are taken very seriously. since 2007 have sold thousands of poker books.
France: By all accounts, the French players are most irregular, with the biggest losses. Good to find them on the tables
Italia: Like the French, if you sit at a table with an Italian player, it will not take long to see all your chips in the middle of the table. The Italians are very impulsive, love the action and fun bluffing.
Well try to broaden the topic on the table image by nationality
Here in the philippines, i've only played a few times at the brick and mortar clubs here, since i mostly play online. What I can see here, there are a lot of good players, but one thing that I notice is the terrible bet sizing. Also based on ym experience, there are a lost of players who like to buyin with short stakcs.
