Anyone else have a hatred with pocket J's? Every time I get then its either in the BB(Always Q,K or A flops) or when in position someone always has a higher pocket pair. I know they can be deadly if used at the right time but they seem to be the starting hand I lose with the most.
Anyone agree? Was up 3 BI'sin ten minutes until twice I had JJ in position and lost twice once to a set and a pair of kings*Both against short stacks)
Should they be more of a limp hand or what because out of every handle these are the cards I lose with the most. Always said they are a doomed hand imo.

I dont know. Honestly I dont like pocket Jacks that much either. Its almost always a sweat. But it is still quite strong starting hand. Not rated as good as QQ, KK, AA. Or even AK I would say. But still. And I think there is no way to limp it. But hard to tell as we all know that there is alot that comes to mind.. position. Action before you etc.

...To me,....they are the absolute WORST hand to get in the pocket,...!
They are on that tipping point between a very playable hand,....and one that will cause you SO much grief,....you wish you didn't even get out of bed that day...!
I just limp in or call a low raise and hope to get in on the flop on the cheap... Sometimes I just don't feel like messin' around,....and play them very aggressively,...depending on the circumstance...!

About 1/10 I manage a win from them. I have had the, 5 times in 30 mins and every time it has been a losing hand, especially when the board is lower. Think I might just limp them in from now.

Yep, JJ is a tricky hand. It is definetly a strong starting hand, but still very difficult to play. So i like to play it strong before the flop, but quite cautious after the flop, if they not improve.

worst hand is the hand you lose most money with- it certainly isn't pocket JJ or 36o or any other particular hand... because it's an always changing situation, one day you can lose big with any particular hand, but other day you can win monster pot and recoup your previous losses. i doubt it's useful to fixate on any hands- better try to fixate on what you're doing wrong in those hands since you're losing on them.

I always play them has a limping hand and i always stick to the no set no bet rule. The amount of times this hand has got me into trouble, i have lost all confidence when dealt them and have no qualms about throwing them away

I'd rather have the JJ on a king high board than face a 4 bet all in when flopping an overpair. JJ can be so difficult but is over rated pre flop. Sure, it is the 4th best starting hand but when you face a 5 or 6 bet all in it's almost too easy to get away from.

Yes, i have said this before a couple of times. Its the worst pocket pair for me also. I havent lost so many times with it than any other pair. I have even more success with lower pairs. Unless im all in preflop and i see higher cards in flop followed by big bets, thats an instant fold

Poker jacks are almost a monster hand. You just can't overplay them... most cards people will be playing are higher than a jack, so, if you see them, most of the time you just have to get out of the way

In my database I have had JJ 763 times...out of those 763 times I have won 558 times which is 73.13%, only with AA KK QQ I have been winning more often ... It's 8th when sorting the starting hands by money won, 6th when sorting by all-in adjusted money won.. 12th in bb/100, 7th in all-in adjusted bb/100...
I wouldn't go calling JJ the worst pocket pair... I think I kinda like having JJ ... The only pocket pair I have been losing with is 99 (gotta fix that )

JJ is easy in any position 1st raise with them, if u get 3 bet then flat call. You NEED to see a flop with them (excluding short stack shoving or calling a short stack shove). Here's the easy part don't think of them as JJ after the flop (unless you hit it) think of them as 22, in fact think of all paired hole cards up to KK/AA as 22. Makes the game easier and your less likely to be married to your hand (meaning you can fold and save money/chips when you know your beat)

JJ is only the worst hand if it doesn't win. It's no different to any other hand in total relativity other than its better than more that it is worse, the problem is that people generally play it as though it is invincible. Nothing is invincible so modify accordingly.
