That´s the name of the new poker show at discovery channel Poker pros Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak will star the program Leveraging their connections made over the years, the two are purportedly going to find and join “underground” cash games across the United States Looks to BE more of a “reality program” than traditional poker action coverage. It´s promising will try to watch it SEPT 10

Great to see a poker program at discovery channel, I hope it's not at night somewhen at 3 o' clock or something... But it's probably with a lot of action if it's from discovery channel!

Anyway it happens everywhere as there are always people wanting to get action and have to much cash to lose. Also let me have a link for the underground!! I'll check it out o nsept10!! oh yeah real underground stuff... with live coverage, they should hope that cops aren't watching. however what interests me most is if this is an underground poker scene- will there be some hardcore porn at the tables, under the tables or in between the tables... at least some strip poker

G'day mates
Well the show should be an interesting put up job. Really who are they trying to kid. There is not an underground poker room who would ever let them go into their game with a film crew and film players breaking the law. Come on it would be beyond stupid. I hope the program is interesting and I will watch it for the entertainment value, but I do not believe for one second it will be on the level. be cool

Yeah - I really don't understand how they could make a legitimate TV show that focuses on underground (illegal) games.
If they DIDN'T participate I suppose they could; film them without revealing the location and of course they would need to distort the voices of those involved and blur the faces.. Wouldn't make for fantastic viewing though.
But as soon as they got involved, they'd literally be dobbing themselves in to the law!
I think this sort of thing could work great as a once-off documentary (VICE style). Where they just went around and filmed a bunch, got some interviews, some good stories and such. But never revealing enough details to get anyone busted.
But I don't see how this could be a regular, legitimate TV show.. As Ronin says - sounds like good entertainment value, but nothing else - how could it possibly be what it promises to be!!??
I don't know gambling laws in New Orleans, but could "underground" not refer to "away from mainstream casino games", but not necessarily illegal? Maybe the government is okay with it, as long as taxes are being paid...?
Or maybe they find an illegal game, and make it legal for the time being, by obtaining a licence during filming...?
If it is indeed illegal, would they be prosecuted, and if so, would they just get away paying a fine? That could just be part of the production budget...

I saw a part of it. Just a little part... But it seems to me that it's, and I could really expect this as it is on a normal tv-show, quite more a normal serie, they don't let you really see what he thinks and how he acts at the tables. Maybe I saw the wrong part but it wouldn't really interest me though I think.
