On October 1 the new Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act comes into force in the UK. This week PokerStars have officially announced the changes to their service, which will come into effect for UK players next month. The changes can be summarised as follows: UK players will remain in the same player pool No rake increases Removal of auto-rebuy in cash games and rebuy tournaments Reduction in VIP scheme benefits from 2015 Changes take place on October 1 UK residents will be prompted to install new software when they log in, however UK players will not be segregated and remain in the DOTCOM player pool and will have access to the same games and opponents they always have.

I received an email yesterday telling me of the changes,also there is some new software to install for UK players. If you update the software before October the 1st you will be eligible for 5 freerolls,I will paste the details; As a special thank you to our players, everyone who moves to PokerStars UK by October 5 will be able to play in our series of daily PokerStars UK Freerolls, with £5,000 added. Imagine the hit to the winnings of all the sites. At first they werent paying taxes all over the place. Now they are forced to. That is one of the reasons that the market has shrinked and its difficult for a new site to stand up alone. Downhill continues....

Well that sucks for you guys after the Scottish referendum which did not pass there is that and looks like lots of things is changing for the UK players no auto rebuys why? Does that mean you guys have to manually do it so that it is you who does it and therefore pays tax and so on. The only bad thing is that there will be reduction in your bonus schemes but at least there are no increase in rake and you can at least make and play for fun if you do not play at the highest level!
