when i play poker i sit in the dark in my gruds, remove telephone wire and there has to be silence and put a note in window saying playing poker come back 2moz, can anyone relate to this? I smoke lots of cannabis and have paranoia issues so thanks for your help mobbers.

i totally can relate to this i do the same thing , but only when i am having a session of masturbation seriously dude WTF but if it works , then it is all good i personally listen to music when i am playing poker , it keeps me from getting angry and make bad decisions

I have read about other poker players doing similar kind of stuff and most of them do not smoke cannabis so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Your post does make me think of a few questions about your habits but as long as it works for you ......or maybe it does not??How is your game going?Does smoking make you a better player? Another thought-do you think your paranoia is just making you paranoid about your paranoia?

Hah thinks this is due to your cannabis addiction lol, you should give it up and you will enjoy life more and you can have fun without cannabis and you could play good poker with music and so on. But you know different people have different style of plays and some can play only in quiet places some cannot and some can only play when they have music on and can perform better, i will advice all of you to test those environment first and then choose which is the best! In case you seriously want an answer to the question "am I normal" lets break this down to a more manageable argument-You lock yourself away in your residence and demand no contact to the outside world,you also prefer the lack of light during this time,you also take mild altering drugs which prompts you to question strangers about your sanity. After much thought I have come to the conclusion that you are either; (A)......A Vampire (B)......A poker player or (C).......An anti social,phenogophobic herbalista who suffers from phobophobia,possibly caused by badbeatalitus.

I smoke Cannabis and have paranoia issues? Stop smoking the weed then and you won't be paranoid or anxious.
Nothing wrong with sitting in a dark room when playing Poker since 1) it helps keep you focused on your monitor and 2) I love quiet and being alone sometimes to do things like this, game or watch films so there is nothing wrong with you doing that.

If you have to ask yourself that dude,...then maybe you have an underlying condition that can be induced into psychosis by excessive marijuana smoking,...which in turn manifests itself as extreme bouts of paranoia...!
...now,...when WE were young whippersnappin' potheads,... (is that pot heads,...or po-theads...?),...anyway,...the thing that used to make US slightly paranoid,...was that if the cops ever took our bag of weed,...we'd have to get more spending money unneccessarily...

Actually he's showing signs of schizophrenia, which can be caused by smoking weed. some people think its paranoia ,but it's not. if this thread is real and not a joke you should get help.
Too much weed could be making you paranoid or a chemical imbalance that is making you feel like s**t causing anxiety thus making you paranoid of the outside world or a past traumatic event which is making you paranoid only thing that can help is prescription drugs as mentioned above go see a doctor

but its somewhat widely accepted how playing drunk/high is not the most +EV move in the poker world, so im sure theres still lots of room for improvement

I was firstly going to write "Yes, you seem like a normal guy, having that kind of behaviour, you like to be quiet when playing poker", but hten i started thinking: what kind of analysis do you want your fellow mobsters to do to your words and your question? Because if you want an anthropological answer, the one who's answering will have to take in consideration th environment you're involved in, to see if smoking canabis is normal, to see if having a computer with internet connection is normal, to see if playing poker is normal, and only after that he will be able to say if you're acting normal or not! Come on, stop it, better days come after worst days, everything will be fine!
