Don't Play When Mad, Sad, or in a Generally Bad Mood  -2
When you play poker, you shouldn't do it to escape from being depressed or having a really bad day. You start out on tilt -- playing emotionally, not rationally -- and you won't play your best. Likewise, if during a poker game, you lose a big hand or get sucked out on and feel yourself going on tilt, stand up & take a break until you feel calm later on. Fellow players will sense your mood & take advantage of it.

I guess his next thread will be:

Do Pay Attention to the Cards on the Table

When you first start playing, it's enough just to remember how to play and pay attention to your own hand. But once you've got that down, it's incredibly important to look at what's going on at the table. In Texas Hold'em, figure out what the best possible hand would be to fit the flop. Make sure you notice flush & straight possibilities. In 7-card stud, pay attention to what's showing & what people have folded when you consider calling opponents.

These are all good tips but trying to stick to these rules is very difficult. If you can master these rules you are on the road to becoming a good player. I never play when drunk and stick to this rule because it has cost me dearly in the past

This cut n paste thing seems to be growing! Is there any 'policing' of this done by BRM admin? Is it possible to police this kind of copyright activity? Is something done when someone has identified that a post may breach copyright and that it has been created by simply cutting and pasting from somewhere or someone else?

Notwithstanding this, it is generally good advice, and really the reason why I have chosen not to play poker tonight!

Use the "Report"-button, then we usually ban people if they spam with copy/paste.
