Pokerstars Zoom  0
Just wondering from anyone who plays Zoom; does it have higher variance then most fast tables? I know these tables come with more but with the fast tables on ladbrokes, Party Poker and 888 don't seem as bad as Zoom is. Especially 888 where I have grinded some nice bankrolls up with minimal fuss but Zoom the last few days has been twice or thrice what I usually see there.

It could just be standard variance for me but thought I would ask.

i don't like zoom poker or any fast poker, but i did play a little bit about 2 yrs ago, and got lucky my JJ hit quads and i won about 80 bucks or so.

I am only playing 2NL since I won a little amount from a freeroll. Seeing a high frequency of coolers and even more so flush draws and flush chase hit. Never seen so many flushes in one session in my life. Not down or anything but it is quite worrying, unless the fish are more prevalent then on 888.(Which has a fair share of them)

Think Ronin was actually a big Zoom player a while back so hopefully he can chime in.

Zoom = more hands per session = higher frequency of specific events happening Big Smile

I played around 10,000 hands per day of Zoom for quite a while... The variance isn't any more or any less than any other kind of cash table - it's just faster... Which gives you the opportunity to play a lot more hands, which in turn reduces variance (as variance naturally reduces over volume).

I know that of course but Stars seems to be much higher then other sites, that is what I am trying to say (Not using rigged as that is just stupid).

What confuses me (And I might sound stupid saying this, but humor me) is if we are playing say 100 hands on Zoom and 100 on normal tables or the same amount overall, then how is Zoom going to be more variance since we are playing the same amount of hands overall?

I don't think it matters how 'fast' say 100 hands are played... 100 hands is 100 hands no matter HOW fast they are played...so why would anything change...? Whatever cards come down aren't influenced by how fast they come...

100 hands played in 1 hour,...will have no different outcomes that 100 hands played in 20 minutes...!

The thing I find with these ZOOM thingys, is that everybody seems to be in a big hurry for some reason, like they are racing a clock instead of other players...!

I actually like the ZOOMy type games...! Thumbs Up

Exactly as I was thinking about but was confused since Zoom is the worst variance game I have played but everything should be the same in overall played hands. So why is Zoom more action set ups and variance?

What is up with Pokerstars? I have never so much utter shite in my entire life. Constantly running into AA and KK or losing with them, or the constant coolers whether it is pocket pairs or sets. So many suckouts. Then add that to the 90% flush rate I have been encountering on this site and the amount of chasers always hitting what they need is astounding as well. Never yo-yo'd with a bankroll as much as I have this last few days on this site. I am glad I get paid tomorrow and can get back to playing on 888. The losing is obviously down to me but constant action hands and crap really puts me off this site.

The RNG of this site is really dodgy and I have had my fair bit of dodgy but nothing on the scale this site has. Something feels off with it and not in a rigged way. it might just be me but I now remember why I originally quit this site. Worst poker site I have played in. The only thing I like about it is the FPP freerolls and our home games. Should have moved my money over to Fulltilt and see if it is the software or the company who owns it. Glad it was just free money and not my own.

In a bad mood tonight, so being very blunt... which I apologise for... but come on...

There is nothing dodgy about it.

There are thousands of blogs saying that 9/11 was an inside job. Does that make it true?

Same and it's not due to poker.

It's called an opinion and I have one, like many over people and there is something wrong with it. I am talking about Zoom by the way not regular, SNG or MTT games, they play fine.

It's nothing to do with variance, rigged talk, bad play or anything it is how the zoom is. I mentioned above about comparing it to other speed tables and as bad as those can be sometimes be,(usually down to play or standard variance) but zoom is a different level. Call or standard, running bad or a stupid bad player who cannot play but it's RNG and action hands and crap is beyond being normal.

9/11? Everyone know's that was the French. Tongue

people thinking pokerstars is rigged is sick, at one time i was a member of over 60 poker sites, and in every single one of them , i've won on the river, and lost on the river, every one my AA's got cracked. it's not just pokerstars, it happens everywhere, including live poker. If you lose a hand, go cry yourself a river, then get over it, cause it's gonna happen again.

I never said it was rigged. I was just sharing my opinion on how Zoom is really dodgy compared to everything else and other speed games on other sites that is all. Stars is the largest poker site so they would not rig anything, same as other top poker sites.
