Where the hell is the logic in this call  0

Forget that I completely overplayed TP, why is he calling flop for half and turn for the rest an extra 800? He obviously doesn't know that he's drawing to 7 outs, but this was exactly the type of hand I was trying to push out. He timebanks each street before he calls, which would suggest some form of thought process. Can someone please explain any possible thought process that would explain a flop call?

Oh, and yes, I know its a freeroll, but it's meant to be the freeroll that no one plays like a freeroll.

was trying to get lucky since he had two overs double gutty on the turn.....he might of had a 'gut' feeling or preflop he was already committed to going to the river if its one of his 'hands' that's still pretty harsh though for him to go all that way

You can ask the same question to yourself why do you call a raise with Q 9 .

Because it is suited???????????? Q 9 is not a monster hand even suited he just played the same way you are playing. Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

He's got an open ended straight draw and two overs to the flop, and can't know, that a Q would not help him here So he made an ambitious call. Just like the guy with Q9s did before the flop.

Pot odds, button, suited connectors. Tell me you'd fold.

Raise small pre to isolate rather than limping behind.
I think as played pre call is close, but just fine.
Your postflop play is also fine IMO.
There's no "not meant to play like a freeroll",especially such no requirement freerolls. If someone plays this freeroll then few people will have good knowledge,so they actually do plays that they deem to be good. Often freeroll players simply dont know better.

I have high expectations of some freerolls (particuarly this one) and it consistanly lets me down, but hey, I think I like your stance on freerolls.
Mind you, someone completely slowrolled/played my KK with AA the other day fantastically, had to admire it.

I might have been tempted to call myself in all honesty and i cant see anything wrong with this play.I probably wouldnt have got involved with Queen Nine in the first place and waited for a better starting hand

As requested, I would fold pre-flop.

a 2 gapper suited connector is something I prefer not to play, pot odds and implied odds does not come into this calculation. Having got to the flop, re-raising and giving him more than 3/1 on 28 out's this sort of player, this early in the tournamant is bound to call.

GL all 3P

We are not the last to act. And if one of the blinds sees this limping and raises up big, we are forced to fold anyway. So if you want to play your button, raise.

No major problem with how villain plays the hand... other than the limp with Q10 preflop...

No major problem with how you play the hand....... other than the limp with Q9 preflop...

Once both of you have limped... you're priced in to call the raise. Villain has correct odds to call with double belly buster gut shot, and you are pot committed with your top pair.

Avoid situations like these - just muck it preflop.

Why though? It is a messy situation as I am aware of, I still hate his flop call, and am reasonably happy to have TP good kicker in that spot. His limp-calling range does include hands that hit that board quite frequently (especially since it is such a wet board), and assume that they have a hand hand that see the draw and come out blazing instead of min betting the flop, unless its flopped nuts or a really stong drawing hand. I'm not a huge favourite, but I'm assuming they're calling to hit the 5, 7 T or the J and would fold to a double brick, maybe even a river T.

I limped because the guy limped behind me. If he opens, I'd probably fold. When he min bets the flop he might as well play with one card face up, its so obviously they're weak on the flop that flatting would be a mistake IMO, instead of resticting him to odds I may as well start throwing money at him accross the table when he does it again on the turn, my raise gives me a chance to take the pot right there and then, because I'm certianly not continuting if a scare card hits and he makes it 3/4 pot.

I relish the opportunity to get into that scenario again, I'll take my 60% equity against a pretty standard limp/call preflop range, and watch the turn and river brick twice and take a nice pot (about 3 times out of 5)

At work, so can't go in to much detail, but Q9 suited vs 2 opponents is never going to be positive EV.

Be more selective preflop, and avoid a lot more difficult situations.

HU against the guy who minned flop it is, unless I'm already crushed (obviously lol). Pre-flop is close to if not positive EV, 270 more into 938, 3.48-1, assuming that the SB has only the tightest of ranges (JJ+, AKo, AKs), and the CO has an extremely wide range, mathematically it isn't a bad call. Factor in the implied odds post flop if I'm lucky enough to flop 2p, straights, flushes etc., I will almost certianly get paid off by the SB (if his range is as tight as I suspect), and the CO could continue with drawing hands. Just so happens the SB obviously didn't wake up with the range I put him on and snap folds to my aggression (maybe AKo) makes the preflop play a pretty even-to-positive EV (I stress, in that current scenario).
Also, factor in I'd already invested 100 chips, the player to my right is obviously weak (could make the same argument for me lol), I have the button and goddamn q9 suited just looks so damn sexy I don't hate my preflop call. As I have stated earlier, I would play the hand the same again.

I normally would just fold/open raise if it folds round (depending on the circumstances of the tournament), but I thought I could see a cheap flop, and when it gets like 3.7x'd im not folding, ever, still had the blinds to consider, so if I get re-raised I'm forced to fold, or if the blinds make it like 6x, but they don't.

I know that you realise that its a 'freeroll' but it also means that the way people play and how hands play out need to be taken with a grain of salt....
