I am quite surprised at this verdict because i thought he was just exploiting an edge he had found. An enormous amount of money to lose even for Phil Ivey and i bet he was not the happiest man last night

So the casino will not pay out even though the player used a casinos own rules, own dealer and own cards to win some money?
The next time a casino loses a large sum of money in baccarat can the casino now refuse to pay unless you prove you were not edge sorting?
If you read the full facts of the case there are a few things that do not add up such as the lady he was with had a reputation for doing this at casinos and she may even had been banned at some casinos and even though Ivey had this case against him casinos are still allowing him to play private games.
In the most recent lawsuit it has been claimed by the casino that Ivey insisted on his own "superstitious"terms such as what colour and brand the deck of cards would be and how the dealer places the cards.

....Surely with these "superstitions" they were fully aware what was going on.

I'd bet my bottom dollar that they allowed him to have it his way, and to continue gambling, knowing full well that if he won they would refuse to pay out... and if he lost... they win anyway.

Win win.

Greedy robbing bastards.
