if a pro with a $20 million loss loss is not the best face for full tilt- i suggest them going for a pro with ~$1K loss (shhh don't tell anyone that i'm talking about myself).
btw full tilt is a real underachiever imo- i expected way more from them when i heard that stars are buying tilt.
Well, FT has enough players that it will pay itself pretty fast I guess. They paid it about 1 billion I think, right? It's like pocket change to pokerstar
Looks like being an aggro maniac isn't too good these days, so many sharks waiting to bite. And being an aggro maniac with no bankroll management is even harder (talking about Isildur but I suspect Gus doesnt give a s**t about BR management either)

Posted by shokaku: The sponsorship deal with the two pros had expired and was not renewed by FT. They want to base their marketing more on the average player now.
A pro with a $20 million loss may not be the best face for a company.
G'day mates
Well I am very surprised it took them so long to get rid of Gus Hanson. Do not get me wrong I like him as a player. I enjoy watching him play but he has been a losing player for a very long time now. I know a great many players who would gladly take there sponsorship deal if they can just throw around money gambling without a care the way Gus did. Hope things turn around for Gus Hanson.wishing you all the best be cool

You mean they JUST got around to tossin' them two rubbies out...???! If I was the owner of Full Tilt,...I would have told them 2 to get a ROOM a LONG time ago...!
They need to find a couple of winners with at LEAST a little personality and a nice smile...!

They need a strategy to attract new players. If such hyper aggro players like Blom, Hansen and after the new start, Dwan do the trick, it should be fine for FT. But it looks like they don't achive it any more.

I have to agree with most of you guys, when I started playing poker Gus Hansen was talked about as a genius but I seemed to have missed that part of his career. All I have seen is headlines saying Hansen loses hundreds of thousands this month, and the same every other month, while playing at FT though he must be making money somewhere. I did watch Isildur play in a high roller,I think it was a PCA event, and he was very impressive and won playing very well.

...Live tourney winnings of $11.2 million, $15 million profit from sale of Pokerchamps, sponsorship and advertising deals totalling around $7 million per year COMFORTABLY covers the $15 million he has lost on Full Tilt over the years.
I actually think he almost loses on purpose just to set an image as a wild and crazy donk.
Now that the sponsorship deal with FullTilt has ended, I bet his losses will drastically reduce.
------------ The most baffling thing involving Gus though.....

Well Gus didn't even show up when they hosted a tournament called play against Gus or something , they had to remplace him with a full-tilt pro
they should have at least kept bloom
they lost Dwan also a while back , it dosen't make much difference if they have famous poker players , because it is only helpful to give good image of the site but after pokerstars bought full-tilt , thats the only advantage they need " we are part of pokerstars " thats alone would make a great publicity

I dont know about blom, how he is doing lately, but from what we are reading here about gus hansen's losses that wasnt a surprise. Who would want a player like that to represent them. Besides the fact that they must get paid for it also.

Now that full tilt and stars have been sold, they will eventually get rid of the pros, who sit around gettin paid for doin nothing, and you will see them just be come regular players,if you ask me its just too expensive to have sponsored pros, who don't contribute.

Well by seeing the numbers yout85 has posted about gus and his earnings, i have to agree that losing that much wasnt that big of a problem like i thought. I would never imagine they get so much money from the side deals.

Who was(were) the chick(s) with big boobs? Don't you think the industry is presently in need of the figure who is attractive, sexy, irresistible, and damn good at what she does? Am I delusional?
