Do spin and go's tilt anyone else?  0
It seems that a lot of ones that I play that get a $2 prize pool just become a shove fest, rendering me to tilt pretty hard when you get runner runner flushed 3 times in a row, on the first hand, with absolute junk.

They are not even poker, they are a lottery. Stay away from them, if you want to play propper poker. Those rake machines are only good for the house and degen gamblers, who dream about hitting big.

So true, I was playing befor sng tournaments, made some money, than started to play cash games, made some money, and then I wanted to try out spin and go. In first I was in little plus, then I started to lose.. so I tryed to come back thru them and quit, but I went more and more down, till my bankroll was at 0 Sad

Which poker site do you play them on? They seem to be available on most sites now and are no doubt an excellent revenue stream.
I have played quite a lot of them on the ipoker network and have not seen too many all in players and sometimes it can make it easier when we are down to HU after the first couple of hands.I view these types of games as a quick bit of fun and am half expecting to meet crazy players so just play tight and keep notes on who will shove first hand with junk. Smile

Doesn't the advert say "only on Pokerstars"?

Btw.... I hate them...

I think they are all pretty much the same formula aren't they?

Guess so....

Still - Whatever formula... they are part of the deeply worrying rapid dumbing down of poker.

Poker is such an amazing game - gimmicks are NOT necessary.

For you. But the success of that format shows, that those gimmicks have their fanbase. And as long as they do so, they will stay. But maybe, once the novelty is gone, the interest in those games will wane.

Recreational and new players do seem to like them... but a quick Google search will show you just what established players think of them.

There are many petitions winging their way to Pokerstars about Spin & Go's... or "Rake & Go's" as they are being dubbed.

Poker has been fighting a long, bloody battle with authorities trying to prove it is a game of skill, and not gambling.... then Spin & Go's come along and piss in Poker's water supply - striking down all the troops and making it almost impossible for Poker to ever win the day.

Same goes for coin flips or all in sit and go's. How can they claim it's a game of skill and offer this type of game?

Spin and goes are just gambling, there is no poker there. Its just an easy way to pokerstars make more money, bcs in 90% or even more is just double the money, so they are taking in 90% of playings 1/3 of money you spend playing them... that is very huge. I watched video on youtube when pokerstars team player is playing them for almoust 2 hours and till the end of video he was down I think 42$ or 48$ ( he was playing 7$ spin and go) and at the end he hit 70$ game, and won it so he is in little plus... All that says that even pokerstars team players cannot win at these games, he only got lucky at the end, and if they even cant win, the it is just gambling...

I think the lack of skill makes them appealing for some people and also the chance, albeit a slim chance,to win a large amount of money usually out of their range.
If I want a quick game that is over in 5-10 minutes I'll play one but I have never had the chance to win any decent prizes and if they were all gone tomorrow I doubt they would be missed. Smile

Yeah - totally agree cash.

There is a place for them... but that place is sitting alongside jokerpoker, deuces wild and other such games in an online casino - not masquerading as real poker, sucking the life out of the Hyper SNGs that a fair few people rely on to make a living.

http://www.p***********m/news/2014/10/7-3-million-spin-...

I dunno, I think I have a better chance of winning a tournament than Spin n Go's getting scrapped.

In short, the article says that 7.3 million of them were played in the first 10 days, with only 377 of those hitting the x1200 jackpot. Oh, and it saw a decrease in cash table traffic by 9.2%, so the recreational flock to the most exciting new method of poker. Excellent.
