pokerstars rake change  0
what do you guys think of pokerstars changing the rake satrting on monday

PokerStars publicly announced Thursday that it will be implementing sweeping changes to the rake it collects across various tournaments, cash game tables and new Spin & Go format.

The rake cap on all no limit and pot limit cash game tables at 25c/50c and higher when heads up has doubled from 50c to $1. The rake cap at 5+ handed tables of $25/$50 has increased from $3 to $5.

Rake at all heads up hyper-turbo Sit & Go tournaments has increased at all stakes. While the total buy-in amounts stay the same, the amount going to the prize pool has diminished. For example, in a $30 heads up hyper sit & go 75c now goes to the rake, up from 63c—a change from 2.1% rake to 2.5%.

For hyper satellites, the rake change appears more dramatic—rake for the equivalent $30 hyper satellite has gone from 59c to $1.03, almost double.

The Battle of the Planets promotion, a monthly leaderboard for sit and go grinders, will end this month. The long-running promotion gave away over $2.5 million in prizes every year.

Perhaps most surprisingly, the newly introduced lottery sit and gos, Spin & Go tournaments, have seen rake increases across the board, going up to 6% rake at the $3 and $7 level and 5% at the $15 and $30. The rake before was 4% for $7+ tournaments, the best in the industry.

The new owners will try and squeeze out as much money, as they can get away with. Increasing the rake is a good way to do it. This is the second strike, after the currency conversion fee. We will see, what comes next.

Not at all happy.

May scupper my chances of going for Supernova next year.

Gonna take a break from Stars and renew my acquaintance with Party Poker.

Mark my words - this will not turn out well for Amaya Gaming. But they'll deserve everything that happens.

I dont like the way new owners deal with stuff, also find it ridicolous that the spin n go on stars are 1200x while on FTP are 2000x, never had troubles connecting on stars for longer then 3 days, with new owners was unable to connect more then a week after latest update, took them 2 updates to fix... i dont think they will keep the stars on same lvl as before.

------------
And why i keep coming back to stars? I like the simple and fast poker client. No troubles with withdrawals. Thats all. Already over those turneys there, interested in ring games mostly and rest fpp turneys. too bad the other clients are shittier

Well they can afford to increase rake and do some stunts that decrease our edge because they popular and have most of the market, so they would not worry about players leaving as their brand is solid and so on, anyway have fun at the tables and hope it stop and they give more incentives for players to stay after the rake increases maybe more cash back or frerolls or something else! Anyway have fun guys and have a nice day!

Wtf again poker stars strike their players??? Is this for real??? first currency conversion fee, now rake increase O.o wtf is going on with pokerstars???Rake was huge without this raise, now it is stupid... It would be better if we just give them the money without playing poker Angry Come on, you r making billions from pokerstars and you want more? what do you want to achive, to beat Bill Gates at money game???

Mr. Isai Scheinberg sold Pokerstars to these mercenaries on perfect timing...

Did you fouls thought amaya wasn´t going to chase their investiment back, making players pay the bills?

Hopefully other sites will see this as an opportunity, to increase their market share, by luring away disgruntled Pokerstars players...

I'm sure there will be many outraged, because they feel like it's all going down hill fast...

now is the time for other poker sites to low down rakes, and all furious players from pokerstars would come there... I think this is very stupid move for amaya bcs they will chase all players away, no one will stay and play under so high rake...

I am not playing on stars ever again unless there's some good promotions. There's nothing I hate more than a company who pretty much has the monopoly over an industry and just think they can get away with everything...

Anyways, the only thing I like about pokerstar is some of the pros who represent them, I can't say I've ever been in love with the brand itself so that doesn't bother me too much.

More rake per game is actually increasing them Big Smile
However, I don't like the change either.
I mean some increases, especially the ones at the micros and at the hyper satellites, is really overdoing it. Winrates per game $-wise are small enough already because the rake was already pretty big, and now they wanna take even more.

It's good for people who solely grind for supernova or supernova elite and squeeze their profits from the VIP system, for those it might not be a big cange because they already get a nice % of rakeback, and they have to put in less volume to remain their status.
However, overall this is huge BS.

when will they start to apply this rake system? I read somewhere that it will come at 1st january , or I am wrong? I hope that they will figure out that they are wrong about this rakes and cancel their increase

For sure the increase in rake is not welcome and look very bad for the new owner.
However did someone have make a verification of the other sites in the market.
Also for multi tabes players is there another site where you will be able to play 20 tables or more Question

I do not want to excuse PokerStars for this increase but just wondering.
For me i mostly is a freroll player so it wont affect me much. Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused

If you want to say what you think you are, then yiu are totally right.
But at the same time exactly this is the issue.
Especially partypoker, but also 888, could be able to compete, however either they are too dumb or I don't know. Partypoker would need to get just a little bit better in pretty much anything they do, 888 needs a better software and a proper reward system. Also both need to attract not only recreationals, but they have to come up with a reason why to play at their site instead of pokerstars. The problem is, pokerstars is by far the best site to make serious money at, and they know that exactly. Thus, they can make these changes and still get away well with it.

I saw the charts posted in the other thread and that amounts look quite big to me.
Like it has been noted above it is the second big move targeting to increase their
profit. Thats what happens when you lead the market, at some point.
If the other sites dont target their moves and start making reasonable offers, this will have
absolutely no impact on them.

third move to increae their profit... first was spin and goes, second charging 2.5% for currency conversion, and third is this insain raise of rakes... I am seriosly planing to move to other poker site. I will w8 little more and I would go somewhere else...
