Not true, google crawler will crawl you website, sometimes it just may take a little while. Everytime you put new content on your website google crawlers will visit it Im not sure about hosting from his computer? I know that it can be done with some work, but once it's up and running, it should all be good as long as you make sure that your host-computer is on and has a stable network connection. It's not really that difficult, I did it ones with a website I made for my girlfriend (about hairproducts or whatever other crap it was ) but I had to take it down after just a couple of days due to some connectivity issues with my internet provider. I hardly count that as publishing a website, I don't think that it even had one hit

------------ Here's an update regarding the actual topic:
I just rented my first referral on the most legit looking site. I've rented him for a month, I think I'll see pretty soon if it was a good decision or not! The advantage I had was being able to see his previous clicks, when he signed up and when he last logged in. I ran this through the calculator and came up with my potential earnings on this particular referral. If he's on average as active as he's been since he registered (earlier this year) I should earn $1.478 but since I don't have all that high hopes for it, I'm thinking more like half of that which is $0.739 and that's from an investment of $0.300.
Basically, I think I'll make a profit of $0.439 but I have the potential to make a profit of $1.178! If this works out, that will be great! Considering his previous stats, I'm thinking that I'll probably see fairly soon if things are going my way or not. If it is working, referral selection will be key for this site!
I'm not hoping for a miracle here, I'm just hoping to see if it's worth it or not. If it does work, I might be able to get another referral in a weeks time at the most. I'll keep you guys updated!

I thought I should update this one a little bit.
The most legit looking site is going somewhat decent. I've bought a total of 2 referrals there and they have combined gotten me a loss of about $0.50, but it's still early, it's only been a few days and I've spent a total of $0.60 on them (bought one for $0.30 yesterday) so we'll see how it works out.
On the other site that seemed legit as well, I've got 3 referrals that are making good progress. They're current average is more then needed to break even for every individual and the grand total is a $0.435 profit for my $0.60 spent. Keep in mind it's only been about 4 days so it could both improve or it could go the other way. I'm hoping it'll at least stay the way it does so I can prolong the time I'm renting them for a 15% discount meaning I'll "save" $0.09.
We'll see, it's all still very early so it's to soon to tell, but it seems to be going in the right direction at least.

Sorry for bringing this old relic back to life but I figured I should tell all the sceptics that after just over a year, I've managed to cash out almost $100. If my accounts keep going up at the same speed they are now, by the end of next year I will probably have cashed out somewhere around $500 in total.
Also keep in mind that most of my profits are going back into the system to generate bigger profits. If I had cashed out all of it, it would probably have been in the area of $250-300.
