DoN - 6man or 10man?  0
I'm thinking about giving those DoN's a shot, I've done well with those in the past so I figure their quite easy to build a decent bankroll. Now, my question is, should I play the 6man och 10man games? When I play regualr SnG's I tend to play the 6man games, they are more profitable for me for some reason.

But seeing as the DoN's are a completely differnt type of game, I find myself wondering if it wouldn't be more profitable to play the 10man games simply because there are more places paid meaning there are more likely someone will make a stupid move on the bubble and therefor more likely to cash.

I know it's always 50% of the players paid, but those 50% seems easier to reach with more players for some reason. Well, basically I want your opinion on this. Let me know what you think!

Or, to look at it from the other perspective, 5 people have to bust out rather than 3 before you're paid.

For what it's worth I find the 6 max DoN's slightly easier. I don't think there's much between them though really but if you're more profitable at a normal 6 max I'd say 6 max DoN's are probably the way to go for you.

Beforehand player screening and table selection, blind structure, speed, and the break-even ITM rate of a certain stake and game on a particular site you intend to play.
Those elements do matter in both 10-man and 6-man (or 4-man).

Personally, I found 10-man non-turbo easier to beat than the rest. Guess it's largely up to your own playing style as well.

Good luck! Smile

One other thing though, be prepared to be bored out of your mind. If you're playing them right they are incredibly dull.

Thanks for your thoughts, I'll be taking them all into account!

I know they can be really boring, luckily I only play 2 tables at a time so I won't need to pay that much attention to it (it's a pretty straight forward game) so I'll entertain myself by watching different movies and TV-series at the same time Tongue

It's ultimately going to depend on your playing style. The more you accumulate, the more you get paid. Any 6 max turbo is going to be a very quick game, and you will need to be aggressive for it to be profitable. The 10 man turbo is going to be a slower, longer game due to players not getting as short as quickly, and 5 elminations needed instead of 3. 10 man's you can afford to play slower, whilst 6 max you need to accumulate quikcly whilst staying in, otherwise it is barely profitable.

I personally prefer the 10 man don sitngo as it is where I have better stats because indeed I like patient poker but not too slow so turbo one is fine.
If I have or try to play the 6 man one it will be a super turbo one... well it all depends on your style as everything is profitable as long as you're comfortable with the structure...

I agree with Zeroster, i enjoy the 6 player ones and find myself getting 2.2x the startout chips and sit out till it finishes and collection, but i do still go and check every now and then
oh i should add it has to be fast for me, turbo's are the only ones i play

Hi, everybody.

I too prefer DON the 10th move. First - 5 paid places instead of three, secondly - mistakes of rivals.

As one clever person "The main rule of poker - to force the rival to make a mistake" told.

Good luck all at tables and in life.

it´s equal 6 seater are faster you can play more games. I see no different by DON it´s 6 seater or 10 seater are easier. When i play DON i play the most times 6 seater by i think the reason is when i play SNG then i play the most times 6 seater SNG.
The best way to find the best table for you 6 or 10 seater is on which table you feel good. When you have a better feeling and more fun on 6 seater play this. In the most times when you feel good you play good it´s simple Blink

Where are you playing DoNs ? If it's on ipoker than you are in the best place (especially with good RB) but I think that there are only 6max turbo and 4max small stack hypers.
In 10max, the game is easier and you don't have to play a lot of hands as well as the bubble is 6players so tight OR.
In 6max, It's the besy for grinders because the tables fills faster which means more volume.
As a beginner you should play 10max.

I'm playing at PartyPoker.

I'm no beginner, I've played A LOT of DoN's. I just started thinking that maybe the 10-mans are easier to beat since there are more places paid which means more players on the bubble meaning less hands needing to be played.

I don't know about Partypoker DoNs.
If the traffic is good in 10max DoNs than you'd better stick to them because it have less variance than 6max and as you said you don't need to take big risk in the bubble since there is a bigger chance that there is someone with smaller stack than yours.
Gl on you DoNs Smile

Yeah, it seems like the poll here is speaking for the 10-man games, we'll see what I do Smile

Getting in the money with zero hand played. It happens around 15% (in my case) of the time in 10 max DoNs. Not quite a case in shorthanded ones.
