For Pinotte - Confession and biggest apology  0
This is my public apology to great gentleman, our BRM fellow, sir pinotte, who landed me 20 $ in a very difficult situation and my my public embarrassment here for not being able to pay it back in a decent amount of time.

It all started with my laptop charger going dead 3 weeks ago. Now, since it is lenovo, old and rare model, the only solution was to get a new on locally - again very rare, and only offer was - 32EUR?!. Only offer. Almost 40$. I had 20$ at my PS account at the time. it was weekend and i need it urgently in order to play all those 2500$ weekly freerols on PS and few others (aiming Premier league earnings form this moth).

So, I made a post here. He responded. I had 20$ from him within few hours. I cannot describe the feeling of getting the faith back at that moment. In humanity, in solidarity.

I live from poker only - and yes, confession - for lunch and sometimes even dinner, since i am out of job for 6 months(regardless of poker) when i was forced to start playing again back in July, after 4-year-break. Now, i didn't have a bankroll. I had to build it form 0 (zero). On the other side, I am too proud to ask for any social support from the state... and it is a 50-60$ a month only...so i decided to try keep going on this way - poker only(trying to get a job, but no way - toughest crisis ever around here ongoing)

Most of the time I am managing to make (build on freerols and then from there building on ZOOm or on 1,10-2,20 180 SNGs) some 200-250 a month which makes my electricity bill (30$), internet (15$), rent(100$)l and some food(whatever comes, if there is any over the top of it). Keeping it ITM arround 20%. Learned a lot last few months (re-learned), read dozens of books and it started to pay off. again, lack of BR is the key problem. I simply HAVE to cash out often, so i am keeping, (actually i am forced to) myself out of decent BR.

Now, as I mentioned, I manage to reach that money most of the time, but variance is killing. Therefore, i told to pinotte that I would pay back in a matter of days.

The very same day, actually the very same moment when I plugged my new crager to my old aptop - it drop dead. Laptop this time. Since I live in the part of the Balkans where no such thing as warranty exist in a fair manner, I had simply to live with it and try to get a newone, since, did I mentioned, poker (online only, since I live in a remote small village, not too many friends since I lost my job also) is my only income. and thus - internet and laptop is must.

So, I had to buy a 40$ used laptop with a broken screen with money that i made that weekend in a FKING internet cafe.
I expected that i wouuld be able to pay back pinotte in the matter of days. Especially, having in mind some 60$ on Duck, 70$ on PokerMinds (that eventually I am never going to get, despite enough earned point even to their standards.)... and, hey ! 20$. Most of time I make that in 2-3 days.
And then, i guess its the rule, it started. I have never had such tremendous amount of losses form bad beats in a prolonged period. poker lady was mad at me for some reason last 3 weeks.

It would be to long to put here all hands, but i have manged to lose (LAST NIGHT HERE ONLY) chipleaderplace out of 120 remaining in a $2,20 micromillios (out of 14 thousands players!!!) with AA preflop allin against 4th stack and eventually get out with with few bucks only, despite the FT was 3K-2K-1K first thre places. after 8 hours!!!! 14K field!!!!

Then, just an hour later or so, last night, I have manged to lose (with stack being in top 10 of remaining 144) A236 Badugi initial hand , getting ou with 2$ in a 2500$ GTD, just few hand away from FT and some hunderds).

Then , just an hour later, I have managed to lose FT, getting out 10th with 3rd stack on BRM 3monthly $1500 on PS... AKs vs KSo preflop.

I took 24$, I had to cash out 15$ to pay my internet that would be going down today at midnight (1st of the month rent, 15th internet, i forgot whene i had a decent meal, think....4 days ago) with idea that i will build from 10 to 20$ to pay back in pinotte.

And this is what fking happende in 3rd or 4th hand. Just to close the lousy night. Hopefulyythis dreadful series too.

Pinotte, my dear BRM fellow and wonderful gentleman, please forgive me and have some patience few more days. I am not going anywhere. Unfortunately. this would be the morning when I would leave poker. If i had anything else to do.

I will get your money back. In a matter of days. sorry for disappointing you.

Sorry for long post. It wasn't a post any way. confession. I am a good player, just had some bad beats. I will keep going. No tilt, jus t snap a bit. Will be back.

To pinotte.

Stories like these make me think about playing poker. Realizing that some people play with money they can ill afford to lose, while I can afford to lose my entire bankroll without really noticing it financially (I'd be pretty pissed off, mind you, but because of the failure, not the money, all of which is pure profit anyway, since I've never deposited any of my own).

I hate to think that me winning, would mean someone would not be able to afford rent or worse. At the moment I'm only playing micro stakes, but apparently, even winning $25 of someone could have this effect... Sobering thought.

I hope you recover quickly!

I am too proud to ask for any social support from the state...

big mistake, you don't ask for it- you take it... if it's something you qualify for, it's something that you are entitled to. and besides if you were working previously- than look at this as a tax rebate (you payed a lot of taxes while you were working)

I agree here! I really know the feeling of being to proud for my own good, I'm the same way. I've NEVER in my entire life asked to loan money from anyone. Even when I had no money for the last 2 weeks of the month and couldn't buy any food, I refused to ask for money even from my mom who's constantly asking me if I need money (both her and her husband has their own business so there's no lack of money if we put it that way). I guess I want to be able to stand on my own two feet and not be reliant on anyone else.

So yes, I do understand how you feel, but from what it looks like, you could use those extra $. Look at it this way: You say that you can't grow your bankroll and that's the biggest problem. Well, consider it being money you get back from your taxes and use that to pay for your electricity, internet and whatever it covers from your rent. That way, you may not need to cash out as much from poker giving you a better chance of growing a bigger bankroll and also earning more money.

Anyway, good for you for facing reality and telling him about this. I know that I for one would appreciate it if I were Pinotte and I think he will as well.

Sorry get back this threads, but after what i read, i just want to know how this player are in terms of poker and life, if he continues just playing poker, if he was get a job, get a update from him.
Other thing is knowing if pinotte get it he money from him, and they become more friends.

And like some player said above, there are storys every day like this, but became public to post and talk and be honest is the perfect thing to do, and not desapear.

For the IMO, just keep playing with you have, and first get a job that can give you the stability and after that thing in poker things and make money.

And for the pinotte a Thumbs Up , that shows the good person and helpfull here.

Enjoy sun and life, keep playing safe.
