On a free.roll it doesn't really matter, but if you like doing things like this frequently in anywhere else then I want to play with you as many times as I can get.

To be honest that was a silly play, you had a very weak kicker and to be honest it was Jokerstars at it best, first all in wins again ( even with the weakest hand) I see that so much i would love to do a stat on it. In freerolls what percentage first all in would be ( even with s**t card's) it would have to be between 80-90%

im happy i am not alone here, me and my friend that play on PS with me alot have reached same conclusion its just too obvious not to notice it, u fold 10 games get 82 go all in and on flop its 82 it happens so often its prolly true.
First to raise gets some extra luck i cant see it otherwise (not always but way way too often)
as for the hand you played, way to go was a right call as it turned out in the end, wont get you on final table thou.

That would be like having AA every hand. If you really believe it, you should just shove every hand, and win the tournament (unless you are unlucky, and start off with one of those 10-20% losses). Let us know how it works out.

??? I'm not really sure whats your point here. So if you fold every hand ( including AA if someone already went all-in first) and then go shove every 10th hand you win?!? You should be making millions in tournaments already lol. Sry for the sarcasm mate, but what you guys are saying makes very little sense.. it either works every time and its a glitch or it only works now or then and you only notice the ones that screw you up.

why you show that you made a bad play is beyond me pre-flop standard call but your play at the flop is disturbing you really thought that A 8 is winner there well good luck to you hope you relaise that you wont be this lucky all the time hope i run like you mate

its amazing play and one that should be in a sticky post of sorts, for newbies.
that gut feeling, showing with Tpck, but knowing how youre totally gonna hit runner runner straight, thats what separates good from weak players.
in long term moves like this could prove to be a real masterstroke. Imagine if you do this with $250.000 pot, you would probably be one of few people who would walk away with that pot while most others would give up on their hand.

I dont think you could have played the hand worse if you tried. I wouldnt have got involved in the hand in the first place but when you were reraised on the flop and then called, you should have folded very quickly.

Standard call? from an UTG raise in the BB. This should never be a call! You're oop against a guy showing strength (utg raise) who has a bigger stack than you and you have an absolute garbage hand that is easily dominated (which was the case) If he had A5s then he could make the call with the other guy calling also but anything A6-AJo should be folded in that spot. Crazy!

it is called defend call .. he is BB it will cost him only 1 big blind to see the flop hoping to hit something like 2 pair or trips it was only min raise .. if it was 3-bet different story

Its all good cuz he won after all - everything turned out great, everything made sense, hitting runner-runners is the best way to make ourself profitable at the tables.

Well you cannot evaluate on one hand alone if the player is playing like that, my advice would be to take some notes on how he plays some spot and also use a tracking software to get stats on him and you can adjust afterwards! Anyway good luck at the tables hope you have better luck than me and uses good bankroll management i lost my bankroll so nothing to do than to chat here with you guys lol. peace out and have fun!

You defend your blinds against button or cutoff raises not from utg raises. doesnt matter what the price to call is, even just one bb, you have the potential of losing your whole stack if you can't get away from top pair. Which he couldn't and he should of been out.

Interesting discussion here guys! Interestingly, there are indeed two clear schools of thought here. First, and most common in terms of poker etiquette, it's a clear fold by BB after UTG raises as BB hand can't beat the assumed hand of the UTG?
However, the next school of though would say, given BB has an A, and the odds are pretty good to pretty much limp in with a BB sized call, (as opposed to a fatal re raise ) is probably a reasonable call. However, once the flop comes, BB has to consider the betting decisions that UTG made and going all in was probably a wrong call on the whole, as the chances are that it wasn't going to scare anyone with a bigger or smaller A kicker that either pairs the board or is higher than an 8.
However, in this case, the poker gods and etiquette have gone right out the window and Leo has been extremely lucky. There is no other description other tha he was very very lucky!
Doing well at poker sometimes relies on the wrong player making the ring call at the right time!
