what should have been the ruling here  0
Guy A bets on river and guy B calls...guy A says 'good call' and shows ace high. Guy B grabs his cards and mucKS em and starts collecting the pot. Guy A says WTF.

The person holding the tournament didn't want anything to do with the ruling and said to do whatever they agree to. The guy B grabbed his cards out of the muck and showed one pair but if u guys were at a game and this happened what would you do. Guy B says he did that because in old school poker they do that all the time and when people tell him good call that it's like a fold. This was a 50 dollar tournament

That's the way I saw it too. Player B was an older guy and started getting a Lil emotional so player A said what ever forget it lol. Funny thing is I knocked both of them out of the tournament and took their bounties

Hello,

from my point of view the rules are pretty clear here, although I am not a real expert on poker rules. Guy B grabs his cards and mucKS em. Thus he is giving up the hand and guy A should definitely win the pot.

Not really sure about the ruling here but I would certainly say that guy B is in the wrong for not showing his cards before collecting the pot. Mucked cards after someone shows his cards usually means that they are worse so they are considered to be the losing hand... I think that I would rule in favor of guy A even tho guy B actually had the better hand. How "old school poker" was played isn't really relevant, it's his own responsibility to go with the flow and adapt to the new ways.

What I didn't like is the person holding the tourney didnt want anything to do with the ruling.

------------
They were gonna chop the pot since that's what the tournament director thought was fair but player B looked like he was gonna cry so guy A said "u had better hand...I'll give it to u but u r suppose to show u r cards next time. I wanted player A to win the pot because he is my brother but I ended up knocking both of then out and coming 1st so I laughed at him about the situation later on jus to tease him lol

Its all depends where you are playing the rules are not the same in all poker venture.

I remember ih a league i was playing if you muck your cards by error then the tournament director would ask you which cards you had and he woud look in the mucks cards if it was true and if it was you would win the hand.

However i think that in a casino if you mucks your cards then you loose the hand. So you have to know the rules of where you are plaing. Question Question Question Question Question

It was a home game and no rule book. The holder of the tourney said they wanted nothing to do with the ruling which was bs really

I don't know about you Canadian guys, bur where i am from if you don't show them you don't win.
I've played various types of poker plus 3 and 4 card brag in home games and it's always the same, mind you the tournament director sure did bottle it.he should have made a decision one way or the other. Sad

I would have to say that this "old school" poker comment is a load of crap. Dude A showed his cards not throwing them into the muck. Dude B does throw his cards into the muck. As far as I see it Dude B folded and Dude A should win with ace high Good luck at the tables Fellow Mobsters.

------------
Well done my friend. Talk about a good way to resolve the situation, knok them both to the rail Take care Mobsters.

The ruling ought to be...let them beat ten barrels out of each other and last man standing wins! That's the way it's usually sorted isn't it? Or maybe player A can pull a handgun on player B who will up end the table in comic defence and run away with the wife of the club owner! The mucker loses!

Once he mucks his cards he loses the hand. Clearly. It's a showdown, that means show your cards or lose 100% of the time ^^

Some people are so dumb I see this kind of s**t happen all the time in home games. If you're gonna host a home game make sure you actually know the rules so you can make fair decisions. + it's not like guy A can fold, he's already played his turn. "Good call" only means he got caught bluffing, guy B is full of s**t trying to make excuses.
