hello together, i have a friend who is drinking befor he start to play online poker some beers. if iam drinking when i play poker i play with to much risk and my dicissions are not that good that iam thinking. what is your opinion is alcohol helpful? and are youdrinking alcohol before you start playing?

I just think that it depends of your drinking.
For sure if you drink enought to get drunk then your mind wont be there to take appropriate decision to play poker.
However if you drink one or two beers i dont think that will make much difference in your decision making and you would be able to play a proper poker game.

Hello mate, unfortunately I have to testify to you, that I am sometimes drinking some beers or other things when I am playing poker. And from my experience you are absolutely right. At first it is OK, but later on I am playing way too risky and too many hands.
if you are +EV Regular you are know what do you want from poker, you may have 200k$ bankroll and drink beer to play NL2 for fun, it is strange question - drink or not, you should answer to yourself i think you shouldnt drink when you play, cause it will tilty game and zero bankroll soon

You got to know when you drink you feel very good but some of the decisions you will make will be hampered and you will do stupid stuffs and will lose money in the long run anyway good luck at the tables and have fun most of all this is all that counts if yo playing not to make money, if not better avoid your liquor , cheers mate have fun at the tables and drinking cheers lol, me going to eat now and then play some poker!

Drinking, smoke, or other things harmful is not a good way to the sucess, and this is not only for poker/gambling, is up to life, big decisions depend on good discernment, so if you are under the influence of alcohol or any kind similar, you know the ende result. And like shokaku said your brain kind see bad hands like a good hands and moves all.in or call with bad boards.

Well mate if we are talking about poker only it is definitely true that you are not able to play your a-game when you have drunk or smoked something. But concerning life in general I disagee, because a good beer is still something I do not want to miss.

From my point of view this is the right attitude for life as well as for poker. I am happy for anyone who does not need any drugs in his life, but I would never blame somebody who does, at least when we are talking about weak drugs here.
