Posted by uno1Bomber: Imagine online poker of the future: Bots playing vs bots and the "poker room" is the only one who doesn't lose in the long run
Seriously, if the bot would play vs the same bot, who would win? Would you invest money in the pokerbot? Would you play vs bots?
People are so lazy, that they create bots to replace them not only on the work, but also on recreational places.
Maybe it's just me, but I play because I love the game. I used to play on fake money because I loved it, after I realized that I could win real money instead of useless chips. Today millions of people play poker on the different places just for fun.
Yeah, isn't that why we start playing Poker in the first place? ..

So. The best way (in my humble opinion) to test this machine would be to play it against the docks and fishes that play and also play it on somewhere like pokerstars and see how it copes with the demands that come from this scenario........

The computer is built to make ''correct'' decisions and is not used to play online poker for money , it is capable of making thousands or maybe even millions of decisions per minute. it has played more hands than there are ever played online but poker was just as a try out for the decision making of this machine becuz it will be used to make more important decisions.

I think people should go to the website and look at the details of the project, there is a part where you can insert you own cards(strategy link) and see how it works though to be honest it wasn't very clear to me. A quote from the site reads.....' The program was trained for two months using more than four thousand CPUs each considering over six billion hands every second! This is more poker than has been played by the entire human race.'........so obviously this is not a simple program and this is only HU limit hold 'em as well. details are at http://poker.srv.ualberta.ca/about

No because it keeps re-evaluating its own plays and hands and will constantly use the best strategy at a certain moment, however if they will try to make a NL version this will be a lot lot lot harder.

Even if it is the most profitable program of all times i still dont think that we are talking about perfect poker I believe that this game along with others, not only card ones, you just cant reach that level.
