Pokerstars - random distribution of cards  0
I play on pokerstars many hands and I have feeling that Pokestars software in some situation is not tru real life random. I saw many hands where cards are comming in some categories. One hand is with many hight cards another vith many low or middle cards, but it is more often than if you play poker in real world not online. Sometimes i have feeling that this software preffer players with greather number of chips specially in important hands. Yestarday, I saw that again. Some player Has K,K another 9,10. On the flop arrive K,Q,2 rainbow, both players all-in.Pokerstars software immediately send on turn J and the player 2. whitch has twi times bigger stack have luck and win with straight. Yes it is possible in real live too, but I saw this situations on this pokersite with probability about 20%. It is too much to get only 1 of 4 J kards on turn or river. i think that this software is not random, but they calculate next card depending on cards that was given to the players to make hand more attractive and giving to players more chances to get one of the poker combination. In mounth ago, i started to play poker on Fill tilt and on this site I don't see this situation too manz times. I think that Full tilt's random distribution of cards is more as in real live poker.

Please reply and share your experience with this situatins!

I play many years know and online can never be so extract like live poker. On one site I play speed sngs and when I'm the first to go all in with an ace with a weak kicker like 3/9 or something else and the other had a better ace I win the hand in 99% everytime that against every statistics, but is funny when you know that,I test this the last 6weeks,and in tourneys yes in many times the big stack win.
But I play online too is fun and I've to do anythink in the evening. But I do not play high buyins or play with high blinds. When I will play real poker I go to my local casino.
And in many time's when you not play a longtime on a site I win the first 1 or 2 weeks, after then I lost all important hands where I'm in front with 80-90% that happens on many sites too.I know many people will now say I'm a idiot or I'm wrong but that is my experience.

I think pokerstars is as random as its gonna get. I know the feeling tho, your short stacked and go allin and no matter what cards the big stack has u know hes gonna win. There was a day a few weeks back that it seemd a 6 would hit flop every other hand so when i got pocket 6's i played them to the river and did hit my trips. Just luck of the draw i believe but i do understand were your coming from. I also find 'j" is a strong card when im playing seems whenever i get my ak in aginst "j anything" the j comes. Probably just superstition on my part but nothing worse then knowing you will lose before it happends lol. Ive also got plenty of suckouts on my side so it evens out and im happy. Before anyone says anything no im not a rigtard and no i dont in anyway think nor care if it were rigged Cool id play knowing id lose every hand just because i love the game more then i love the money.

It has been said hundreds of times that the chip leader in a hand wins more often but I have never seen the evidence of this happening.
If it was true then surely the best players would just be going all in every hand or the player who takes the lead in the tournament would always win.Sometimes it does look dodgy but the odds in poker are never that far apart pre flop. Also the larger chip stacks can afford to take more risks with speculative hands.
As for how the deck is shuffled here is what pokerstars say is how it is done.

If you play freerolls then it is true that the big stack are winnings many hands and its look like if it was rigged. But usually the big stack have a wide playing range and if one is in a very lucky day IMO it is why they win. Now just look how many wide playing range players went out of the tournament in early stage cause they were two wide. In a freeroll of 10 000 entrants after 30 minutes you will see that around 50% are out and i dont think that they were all very good players. Smile Smile

I found this to be true,to some point, what a lot of people forget is that you see,and play many hands online and as so you will be experience a lot of weird hands, but I am sure that even though some times it seems nothing is random, it is. Big stacks play more hands as well, when I have a big stack,I find my self playing hands,I normally won't play and take more, chances then I do,and end up winning, but if I am not careful I can loose that stack, and end up loosing.

Stars, and most likely all online sites, have a better random shuffle than a real life dealer that just riffles the deck a few times. Seriously think about that. Just how random do you think a manually shuffled deck is?

I dont think that there is something like level of random. IMO evry poker site and live poker are on the same ground the cards are given randomly. The fact of card shuffling has nothing to do with the result not being a hazard. Smile Smile

Exactly this.
Pokerstars's software is as random as it can possibly get. Suckouts and ''joker'' cards will eventually come out, but that has to happen some times... in the end you can rarerly be 100% favorite until all the cards have fallen out.

The idea of randomness still relies to a greater or lesser degree on the principle of probability, and also the amount of time to accurately study and record the appearance of cards. I.e. You may just remember the ones where it seems unrandom, but is part of a greater scheme of randomness.

Think of a coin. What are the chances of flipping a head? The first flip may be a head. Does this change the chance of what the next flip will reveal? Of course it doesn't, but in our minds, we believe there to be a greater chance that the next one will be a tail! Each time it is random and the earlier appearance of a same side(or card in cards) makes no impact at all. You could flip a coin 3000 times and each time it will be a head!

We complicate it all by gambling on the probability of a particular card appearing, or not appearing and get hooked up on what we want (or more importantly the card we don't want) rather than what appears in terms of randomness or probability.

I agree that with Poker Stars is all random most big pocket pairs win against junk just have too play them with aggression i was running deep on a VIP free roll the other week on Stars got dealt AK in the big blind called an all in was up against K 5 Club Club and the 5 hit on the river lost half my stack if the software was setup for the big stack then i make the final table of that tournament with any site it's all about winning the coin flips.
