Nahh, NL hold em for me, i do like omaha hi/lo but find it hard to get a table without a bunch of donks and 2 pro sharks at the table, to much $ to play a game, i give the tourns ago once in a while.
I started Playing Omaha Hi/Low too. But I still play Holdem mostly. I like that Omaha doesn't give You so many bad beats when playing Hi/Low cause YOu often know that You are sure to at least split one of the two pots.

I have to agree with you . Omaha is so exciting of a game. I suck at it though. I am still trying to get the hang of it. Thats why I usually play hold em. I lose too much on Omaha.

I guess all players used to hold' em have problems adjusting to omaha. The hand strength needed to win a showdown there is much higher. And with the pot limit structure a lot of players see the flop. So a showdown is nearly guaranteed.

The great part about Omaha is that you have to use 2 of your hand cards not only 1 as in holdem. Playing small limit plOmaha is a great bankroll builder. Lots of first time tryers who actually dont now the rules that well I dont play Hi Lo think its to much of a gamble and i dont like it when the losers gets something I was told that Omaha werethe next big thing a couple of years ago. So i started training Still kind of slow on the pl Omaha tables tough

I doubt that omaha will overtake holdem. With those four holecards it is no game for TV. So the casual gambler will stick to the game that is shown, and that is holdem. I guess a rise of the old 5 card draw is more likely.
I saw an interview with Tom "Durr" Dwan a coupleof days ago. There he explains why all the Highrollers meet at the Omaha PL tables more often than at the NLH tables nowadays.
He says, that his moves arent that different from the ones a 5/10 player does and that in omaha much more complex thinking has to be done. Putting someone on a range of hands is much harder. In Holdem someone is bluffing, semibluffing or has it. But in Omaha? Much harder to say. And because of the four cards in hand you have much more action because of the many draws, redraws and made hands.
Omaha HAS already taken over when it comes to High stakes, but of course Holdem is not going to die..

Ermm ok, so does the inventer play or did the player invent? Anyway iv been getting off on it today, took a break from poker, took $2 to 2 tables left 38 up in 45 mins(1 got busted) then left happy, so i give it anouther go, same again $2 on each (.10) left with 24 and 41 up $95 for around 2hrs work :} Im sure ill be playing a lot more, but its a donkfest, shocking to see what ppl play with.

Preflop handselection is not so important in omaha as it is in holdem. There is no thing like aces in omaha. Rarely you are better then 60/40 before the flop. As Andy Black pointed out in one of the Full Tilt articles: It is not so important what you hold, it is more important what you hit.
As some pros said, it's better to play any Omaha cash games than Hold'em, but for tourney it's better to play Hold'em than Omaha, why? In cash games you want actions & Omaha is a game with actions no need to wait only for Aces to get involve in a hand.

From what i see its full of donks, and very few sharks, everyone wants to see a flop, normally 8 ppl in a pot!!!, i choose my hands so can put a raise in pre-flop then get some money(less callers) rather than see every pot (with 8 outhers)and then play to get even. I still cant get over the crap ppl play with its unreal. I think prflop hand selection is very important, most ppl cant see a good hand and just play giving me a huge advantage, im loving it at the moment but only because im playing bad players.

Preflop hand selection is everything in Omaha. You can`t get into hand in Omaha with crap cards, hoping to hit single lower nut straight or some weird boat. Maybe You like playing against donks, i don`t, specially not Omaha where pots get big quick.

I have also discovered omaha recently but i only play omaha hi because its like holdem with 2 more cards. Is awesome to see all the possibilites u have with diferent cards. However i like playing holdem with real money and omaha with ftp or fpp .

My advice to all new to Omaha would be, start by playing FL Omaha. This way You will get used to hand selection and everything else so when you move to PLO betting would be the only thing to learn. It will save you some money.
