Last week, in a conference call with investors, Amaya CEO David Baazov said that the company (PokerStars) is aiming to double the poker business in the next five years.
In order to make this happen, Baazov informed that the company will be expanding into new markets, add more promotions and increase marketing, and develop more poker products such as Spin & Gos.

Good luck with that one. Stars is the biggest player in poker anyway, so they will not be able so take those additional traffic away from their competitors, as there are no real competitors left. And attracting a lot of new players after the hype in the late naughties will be difficult, too. the fish grounds are emptied.

This maybe be good news for the players, or bad news, because probably they will put some things on their rooms that bring traffic, but will put poker as a game with rolleta, lucky games, and other stuff.
For me is a good thing to see, more this room go up more we receive on tournaments, promotions, and thing like freerolls and challenges.

I think that their target is way too ambitious, most gambling resorts are reporting losses recently, even some in Macau and I think the boom in poker has reached the summit. Pokerstars seem to be putting a lot of time in trying to establish the quick fix/little skill poker games but I think poker became popular was because players wanted a game where they could learn to win and then progress to bigger and better games. When a company decides all that they are interested in is volume of customers then the customer always gets the minimum of quality.

Fish grounds was never a thing IMO. They either stopped playing after loosing much money, or invested time and effort to learn playing better on a next level.

They are talking about poker business not casino or sports betting. They just want to double the poker which IMO they wont be able to do. Casino all around the world are losing money cause of the market is just full so how do you go to increase your part if there is no client.

If they keep absorbing all the former owners of big rooms like they did with Rational Entertainment - it's not that unlikely they pull this one off.
