Go-ahead grand slam continues Pujols' resurgence Leads American League with 20 home runs By Trevor Hass / MLB.com
OAKLAND -- Albert Pujols' seventh-inning grand slam barely cleared the fence in left, but he got just enough on it to catapult his team in front. The home run, highlighting an eight-run frame, gave the Angels a lead they wouldn't relinquish in a 12-7 win over the A's at the Coliseum on Friday night. Pujols, who has 12 home runs in his last 20 games and an American League-leading 20 on the season, finished the night 2-for-5 with three runs scored and five RBIs. He leads the AL in home runs, RBIs, runs and slugging since May 28.

LA Angels at Oakland
The LA Angels just didn't have it together during Saturday's game as they dropped one to Oakland, 4-1. LA now finds themselves in third in their division, but that's not great, but it's not terrible either.

D-backs trade Arroyo, Toussaint to Braves Atlanta sends Gosselin, recovering from broken thumb By Jake Rill / MLB.com
PHOENIX -- The D-backs announced on Saturday that they have traded right-handed pitchers Bronson Arroyo and Touki Toussaint to the Braves for infielder Phil Gosselin. Arroyo was 7-4 with a 4.08 ERA in 14 starts for the D-backs in 2014, but has missed all of this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The 38-year-old right-hander has played 15 years in the Majors. Toussaint, 19, was selected by the D-backs in the first round of the 2014 draft at No. 16 overall. He was 2-2 with a 3.69 ERA in seven starts for Single-A Kane County this season. Gosselin is currently on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb fracture. The infielder has batted .325 with a pair of RBIs in 20 games for the Braves this season.

Teheran outduels Harvey as Braves sweep Mets By Mark Bowman and Carlos Collazo / MLB.com
ATLANTA -- Julio Teheran prevented Matt Harvey from receiving the offensive support he needed to back up his strong effort. Pedro Ciriaco then soured Harvey's performance by delivering a two-out, seventh-inning RBI single that accounted for the only run in the 1-0 win the Braves claimed over the Mets on Sunday afternoon at Turner Field.

Darryl Hamilton killed in apparent murder By Adam McCalvy / MLB.com
Former Major Leaguer Darryl Hamilton was killed Sunday, police in Pearland, Texas, have confirmed, in what was an apparent murder-suicide. Also in the home was the couple's young child, who was unharmed. Investigators told the Chronicle it appeared to be a murder-suicide. Hamilton was shot several times and Jordan died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the newspaper reported.

Female French teen makes MLB history Shortstop Mayeux is first woman added to international registration list By Lindsay Berra / MLB.com
At noon on Sunday afternoon, a 16-year-old French girl made Major League Baseball history. Melissa Mayeux, a shortstop on the French U-18 junior national team, became the first known female baseball player to be added to MLB's international registration list, which means she will be eligible to be signed by a Major League club on July 2.
"In 2017, she'll still be on the young side, but she's improved steadily over the last two years and will continue to improve," McClellan said. "So could she play for France in the WBC? In her lifetime, I think she can."
Looking at the pitching we can see the reds are going to send a rookie 27 years old pitcher to the mound and he will face and hungry pirate team that wants to keep going pushing forward to get to the best place possible for the playoffs

Cruz in lineup at DH after pelvic bone injury By Andrew Erickson / MLB.com
SEATTLE -- Mariners slugger Nelson Cruz returned to the Mariners' lineup on Tuesday, the day after he was pulled before a seventh inning at-bat with what manager Lloyd McClendon described as a pelvic bone injury. It's an injury both McClendon and Cruz said sounds worse than it actually is. "They're telling me he's fine," McClendon said Tuesday. "We'll probably just keep him off his feet for a while and have him DH."

Bling around the Posey: 2 slams in 5 days Giants catcher willing to play first base to help team win By Chris Haft / MLB.com
SAN FRANCISCO -- Buster Posey appears destined to be elected the National League's All-Star catcher. But for the next few weeks, he might occupy a different position for the Giants, more often than not. Posey played first base Wednesday night against the Padres and belted a third-inning grand slam to help lift the Giants to a 6-0 triumph. For Posey, the leading vote-getter in the latest NL All-Star balloting update announced Tuesday, it was his second grand slam in five games and the fourth of his career.

Not a shave situation: Keuchel blanks Yanks Astros ace whiffs career-high 12 in second shutout and third complete game of '15 By Chandler Rome / MLB.com
HOUSTON -- The conversation was brief. "How you feelin'?" Astros manager A.J. Hinch asked Dallas Keuchel in the ninth inning of Thursday's 4-0 victory over the Yankees. "Dandy," Keuchel responded. "Finish the game," Hinch shot back. "I want to go home." With the Yankees' Jose Pirela at the plate representing the tying run, Keuchel sent his manager home. He got the left fielder to bounce out to third on a changeup, stranding the bases loaded and completing a marvelous six-hit shutout in which he set a career high with 12 strikeouts. For Houston's ace, it was his third complete game and second shutout of the season.
