Welcome to the Poker Mountain Ascension Challenge!
This challenge is to start with a $75 bankroll and build it to $5000 within two years.
The starting $75 bankroll has come from a 7500 mobpoint cashout into my Party Poker account from the BankrollMob site we all love.

I want to build the bankroll and do cash outs in the following way.

Step 1.
Bankroll $75 Build it to $1000 and cash out $200
Step 2.
Bankroll $800 Build it to $2000 and cash out $200
Step 3.
Bankroll $1800 Build it to $3000 and cash out $300
Step 4.
Bankroll $2800 Build it to $4000 and cash out $400
Step 5.
Bankroll $3500 Build it to $5000 and cash out $500

Then decide where to go with the $4500 from there.

So here is my current plan for building my bankroll.

I want to maintain 40 buy ins at whatever level I am currently play on. Once I get an additional four buy ins for the level above my current level I will take a 4 table shot at moving up in stakes. I will allow myself to only lose two of my increased buy ins before I MUST drop back down to the lower level to once again rebuild my bankroll back up to the point when I can take another shot.
What that actually means is this...

I will be starting with a bankroll of $75 US.
I will play NL2 (0.01/0.02) Texas Holdem.
I know that $75 is less than 40 buy ins, but it is what I will be starting with.
I will make my 1st attempt to move up to NL5 (0.02/0.05) when my bankroll reaches $100 US. I will continue to play NL5 until I drop below $90, unless I am successful in which case I will keep on playing at the higher level until I have 40 buy ins for NL5 plus 4 buy ins for NL10 (0.05/0.10) at which point I take a new shot again at moving up again.

So start at NL2 and progress through each stage when appropriate.

Phase 1- NL2 until I reach $100 US.
Phase 2- NL5 start $100 until I reach $240 US.
Phase 3- NL10 start $240 until I reach $500 US.
Phase 4- NL25 start $500 until I reach $1200 US.
Phase 5- NL50 start $1200 until I reach $2400 US.
Phase 6- NL100 start $2400 until I reach $5000 US.

I do not plan to play at stakes higher than NL100.

This play structure should answer any questions as to how I plan to progress through this challenge.

This challenge will be started on the PartyPoker gaming site but if I am unable to get the player volume and table selection I will require then I might need to pull all the fund off of PartyPoker and then move the entire challenge over to PokerStars which we all know has a much larger player base. I will however try to make things work on PartyPoker first. I will make that decision if and when the time comes.
Well the requested cashout has arrived into my PartyPoker account today and I will start the first session at 1pm locally. I will keep you updated regularly.

Starting Bankroll $75

Current Bankroll Dollar 95.67

Day 1.
Starting Bankroll $75 Current Bankroll $103.53
Day 2.
Starting Bankroll $103.53 Current Bankroll $108.20
Day 3.

Day 4.

Day 5.
Starting Bankroll $153.00 Current Bankroll $74.84
Day 6.
Starting Bankroll $74.84 Current Bankroll $118.67
Day 7.

Looks like you have made a good plan Smile I believe you could even cash out more and sooner
For example cashing out 100 at the 500 mark wont be bad.
Depending in the blinds, this goal can take a while, assuming that everything will go as planned Smile
All the best with it.

G'day mates

I just finished my 1st session of the new challenge and I am very pleased with my result.
I start out the session by getting pocket Aces on one table and pocket kings on another.
The money went all in preflop on both tables and just like that I was down 2 buy in's.
My aces got cracked by 2 pair 8's and 7's & my kings died to a stright.
After my poor start I am pleased to have battled back and finish the session in the + column.
I will plan another session later after I have eaten supper and had a rest break.

Current bankroll is $77.66

Ronin. So! You have made $2.66 on your fist session. You may wish to consider the return on investment in terms of time spent playing versus the amount of money that you are winning to consider the value of what you achieve and whether you should modify your approach. Whatever you choose, good luck with your challenge.

its important that you r in plus... its very bad when you go down.... xD its a bummer that your aces and kings got cracked in bigining, but you must remember that you did correct play, implayed to chips go all in, which is very important, but got on the wrong side of it... Just remember its all variance, and next 2x min, pot is yours with those aces Blink

good luck with your challenge
unless you rarely play , i think 2 years is way too long
i would assume in less than a year , you either completed the challenge or lost the bankroll
i see you are doing good , stay away from the casino , i speak from experience
best of luck , don't play long sessions

Hi Ronin,
I've got to say this way you put things on poker it's probably the best way to play the game. Defining long term objetives will make you think about the future every time you play in the present. I guess i'm not ready to take such a challenge on my own, because i would easily forget why i'm play for two months after starting it. You will need to define very well the levels you'll be playing, but i'm thrilled to read your updates about this. You'll probably dedicate more to play ring games, but what levels? NL10 at four tables, maybe? Or less? And tourneys, will you dedicate some time to them too? Run for it mate, and remember that efficiency will be more important along the way than efficacy. Worship

G'day mates

I just finished my 1st session of the day and day 2 is now underway.
I am very pleased with how the first day of the challenge finished.
Today I plan to play 3 of 4 sessions in total.
If the poker gods are willing I will keep making profit again today.
The 1st session was only 1 hour long, and only on two tables.
Player volume really sucks as most of the time both tables were not even full of players.

I started the days challenge with $103.53 and finished it with my new current bankroll.

Current bankroll is $105.62
