Posted by bowie1984: Yeah, keep on grindin' out Ronin but you yet again starting to carry away with the limits. I am in no way to give out advices to you but you are not really in need to change pace every week or so - u could take your time, nobody wants you to rush this.
G'day mate
You are right amigo. I decided to go take an hour long nap at 8 pm instead of taking a shot at moving up in stakes already. So my 1 hour nap was supposed to end at 9pm, then I was planning on playing my third session of the day. I awoke at 1:20am because I need to go to the washroom, so I slept for like 5 hours. I have decided on the following...
So here is my current plan for building my bankroll.
I want to maintain 40 buy ins at whatever level I am currently playing on. Once I get an additional four buy ins for the level above my current level, I will take a 4 table shot at moving up in stakes. I will allow myself to only lose 2 of my increased buy ins before, I MUST drop back down to the lower level to once again rebuild my bankroll back up to the point where I can take another shot.
What that actually means is this...
I will be starting with a bankroll of $75 US. I will play NL2 (0.01/0.02) Texas Holdem. I know that $75 is less than 40 buy ins, but it is what I will be starting with. I will make my 1st attempt to move up to NL5 (0.02/0.05) when my bankroll reaches $100 US. I will continue to play NL5 until I drop below $90, unless I am successful in which case I will keep on playing at the higher level until I have 40 buy ins for NL5 plus 4 buy ins for NL10 (0.05/0.10) at which point I take a new shot again at moving up again.
So start at NL2 and progress through each stage when appropriate.
Phase 1- NL2 until I reach $100 US. Phase 2- NL5 start $100 until I reach $240 US. Phase 3- NL10 start $240 until I reach $500 US. Phase 4- NL25 start $500 until I reach $1200 US. Phase 5- NL50 start $1200 until I reach $2400 US. Phase 6- NL100 start $2400 until I reach $5000 US.
I do not plan to play at stakes higher than NL100.
This play structure should answer any questions as to how I plan to progress through this challenge.

Just finished my 1st session today and it is another positive finish. Started with $118.67 and finished with $131.37 I now have the bankroll to play NL4 and to take a 2 table shot at NL10. I might be able to play one more session today as well. It would be great to finish the day above $125.

Just finished my 1st session today and it is another bad round. Started with $114.68 Everything just went wrong if I do not come out of this downswing fast I fear this challenge will be over very so as I will be flat broke and busted.
Current bankroll is ... $86.12
I will be playing again soon.

Whe you run bad just take a break for the day. No need trying to recover your losses on the same day. Such thing almost never happens, and results in worst outcomes. Pretty much your bankroll is still there, and you have plenty of time to play. Good luck, and dont play any more games today

This. 100%. U should probably start to pick tables with more caution too.

well Ronin, must admit that you're going through a tough patch here, but cheer up things aren't always what they are... maybe it's just a small setback before a magnificent run to the very top (and there might be lots of big boobed blonds sitting and waiting for you at the top)... or you can actually go bust in no time and then thank poker gods that you didn't have to spend 2 years and go busto 1-2 days before hitting the 2 year mark...

1st mobber ...
You are absolutely right! I did heed your good advice and walked away from playing until this morning. I had a positive result on my 1st session today Current bankroll $85.35
2nd bowie1984 ...
You are also right but it can't be done on PartyPoker. This morning when I log in there was only 2163 players online playing poker. Right this second PartyPoker is showing there is 3323 players on 1551 tables. When I open the NL2 tables there is only 1 table being shown with 9 players, and 1 table with 3 players on it. The NL4 tables is even worse right now with 1 table with just 5 players on it. The NL10 tables at least have 3 tables with 9 players on them.
Ok lets look at PStars, The first thing I see is that there is 91367 players online playing poker. NL2 has a very long list to scroll down and chose from, probably over 100 full tables. NL5 has a shorter list but it is at least 50 more tables to pick from. NL10 look about the same as NL5 does so at least 50 tables to pick from as well.
I think what I really need to do is move my challenge over to PStars simply because they have the player volume I need and Party just does not. In fact Sunday afternoon they still had perhaps a 10th what PStars had on playing. Gone are the high days of Party being the worlds largest poker site.

G'day mates
Well I just finished a very nice session of poker. It was a positive result which pleases me. I started with a bankroll of $85.35 and grinded it up to my new level.
Current bankroll is 95.67
I am seriously thinking about cashing everything out and moving this from Party to PStars. Today at 4:30pm there was 9056 players on party and when I looked at PokerStars there was 158967 players. The difference in player volume is just so important, I wanted to play on 4 tables but only 3 tables had players on them. I made do and made money though

Before you make the change to stars you better look to the money exchange rate just selling and buying you will lose approx. 10% of your BR. is it worthed.

Good to see you gaining ground, on your last best score so far in this goal. If you keep your mind to ti without changing limits, your story so far shows that you can make it. Good luck with your new sessions and keep us updated
Well Done man! this is fantastic! It reminds me of Chris fergasuns 50k challenge a few years ago, he started with freerolls and worked it to $50,000 with in two years I believe! he stuck to the same principles and had a long term goal Good luck to you I will be rooting for ya!

Nice to see you re back or still at the poker tables with a new challenge. As i said before I am sure you have the capabilities for it ... just be patient and play your a game in poker. I would advise you to keep to your numbers of bankrollmanagenent (prefer to stick a bit longer to a lower level than to go a level higher to soon) and also quit a session when you loose more than 10 % of your bankroll.

Probably worth it. He will have a wider pool of players plus the actual opportunity to choose tables as he wishes, not as the moment dictates. But he could transfer the money inter-account on Party and get it back on PS w player transfer if anybody here with accs on both opens to an exchange or something like that.
