Obviously none of us are in a position to be critical of Negreanu but I think he had a better chance of winning the tournament once he had made the November 9.A lot of stuff happens in the period between now and the final-all of which he is used to. I watched quite a few of the hands prior to him busting out and I just think there were players who were obviously just trying to make the final table and when he got to 8/9million chips he could have sat back slightly and allowed the weaker players the chance to make the mistakes. Saying that if he had got to the 14 million mark then he would probably be in the Nov 9 with a great chance to win.He is a great player and fun to watch, I am more annoyed that we won't get the chance to see him on the FT.
We all know Daniel that you were looking for that 1st spot which would have been the most achievable thing in your poker career but unlucky you better luck next time though

Daniel Negreanu must be really gutted because he might never get a better chance of winning the big one than this. I love reading his thoughts on hands because it shows how much these top players analyse every decision

Negreanu knows so well how to explain the way he played and what he really should have done. That first hand, for instance, we now know, after seeing what happened and reading his explanation, that if his bet post-flop would have been higher, he would probably get that pot. we can and should apply this knowledge to our current game, which is wonderful. The last hand, like he said, it wasn't just meant to be, with the river.
Yeah I would too argue against of what he did in his last hand. He should have push preflop on that spot IMO but I'm obviously not that kind of player who overthinks every move like he's doing. I get that he wanted to win this, but to win this you actually have to make it onto the final table which he almost did by crawling his way back into the tourney... But when he'd had to be more aggressive he just choosed to play it smart and it cost him dearly. But what do I know, right?

He is a pro and this statement are really good to discribe his motivation to play. To win a bracelet at the WSOP was important, not some ranking at the november nine event with a big prize pool for all players at the final table.
I merely stated that first he actally have to make it into the 'nov nine' to have a chance shooting for the title. He obviously had some interesthing observations about the others but based on that blogpost he wrote above he overthinked some situations 2 the point where he had no good choices left. This is probably his way of play throughout his whole carrier so I am not criticising him, just found it interesting...
