Phil Ivey is currently in court over the $9.6 million he won at Atlantic City's Borgata casino back in 2012 using a technique called edge sorting. The casino says that the technique used violate New Jersey casino gambling regulations, while Ivey says he won fair and square.

I think Ivey is getting screwed on this occasion and I hope he wins this case.It must be up to the casino to know if there is a problem with the cards. How can "unfair advantage" be a reason?Isn't the reason pro gamblers bet massive amounts of money because they feel they have some kind of advantage.

The cards have been destroyed so how can they prove that these cards were not good and that the edge sorting was possible with this deck of cards.
However i do not know why Ivey is claiming that the casino was using alcohol and very nice and flirty waitress to impair is judgment this has nothing with edge sorting.
But i think that the casino is responsible for their cards and these cards was giving an advantage to some players to bad for them.
If the Borgata destroyed the cards, then they should have no case. Besides, it is their responsibility to determine that the cards were misprinted before putting them into play.
What a bunch of Borgatas Morons, are they near bankrot to preform s**t like this, it was back in 2012 and they pull it under the sheets now. Yea right. Musta been they cant make peace with that he won and not the guy they bet on. Its just absurd to call somebody cheat in live poker.

i don't think i am with Ivey in this one every casino instruct their waitresses to be flirty and I've never heard of a casino without alcohol still i believe Borgata casino cheated Phil out of some millions Edge-Sorting is the casino problem not the player i mean he didn't bring his deck of cards from home .. don't blame the player for your mistakes anyway this issue has been going on for a while now .. i am really surprised that Borgata didn't back down and gave Ivey a settlement because seriously this is all bad publicity for them ..

i don't know if you can accuse casino of trying to screw you- it's their job afterall. free booze and b1tchy waitresses, hmmm that sounds like paradise... oh and what's the problem with casino offering free booze- say no and move on with gambling. the fact that decks got destroyed is definitely against borgata though...

yes he has bring cards from his home... there were no borgota's cards...Ivey bring his own deck, and casino allowed it

There is also the fact that the lady Phil Ivey was with was a well known edge sorter and it should be obvious when a player like Ivey goes in and plays for a while and then decides to increase his bet sizes significantly that something like this is happening. I have no sympathy for the casino....would it really be hard to just bring in new and different designed decks every 10 minutes or at least check them.Also I am pretty sure that Ivey had told the casino that he wanted the cards to be dealt a certain way as well.....for superstitious reasons.

Well, according to Ivey his brain was in his trousers this whole time. Would be nice getting this sentence into the court hearings as well.
Don't know why he's complaining about they waitresses though, they are just doing their job and it's up to you to manage all of these if you're really a professional. He got some numbers and he don't wanna keep them then Phil just share it to me.
