It feels like such a long time ago when we first heard of this possible merger but it appears that all the terms have been agreed and it will now go ahead and be called Paddy Power Betfair. I have put in a link that is quite interesting to read.A point I found of interest was this....."The merger will reunite Betfair boss Breon Corcoran with the bookie where he spent a decade of his career. Mr Corcoran, who will be chief executive of the new company, rose to be chief operating officer (COO) of Paddy Power before leaving in 2011 to take the helm at Betfair, where he revived its fortunes. The article is a nice overview over the already made or planned mergers in the betting industry. If that Will Hill - 888 deal is revived, i guess every major player has done a merger. That is downright scary.

Yeah they are taking over the world by merging, even pokerstars in terms of poker has merge and they are now in the sports betting field too and slowly will take over the world and our children will know only pokerstars and all, anyway good thing if all merge and get better bonus as they would be competing against each other but also downside is less bookies less sign up offers and thus less bonus hunting, anyway peace out and good luck!

Well after all that story lately with the merges, all i see here is an agreement Lots of things can go wrong till the sign up. So i wouldnt bet on this one. We will have to wait and see.
This for sure can't happen, if does it's not a good thing. That is what my fortune teller told me this morning about the idea of Betfair and Paddy Power fusion...

It will only be a matter of time before one of the names is dropped. There is lots of examples in the private business world where such takeovers have sought to retain both names and subsequently one (usually the last name) has been dropped.... Just because it is easier. Paddy Power Betfair just doesn't sound right!

If the brands remain, i don't see to much problems with the long name. Just look at Stars. It is owned by a company with just one name, but it would made no difference, if it were 10 names long, as that companys name barely shows up.
