Archie Karas, the man who turned $50 into $40 million at Las Vegas casinos in the early 90s, recently became the 33rd person to be written up in Nevada's "Black Book".
Karas, 64, has been cheating at card games since the 80s, and he has been arrested multiple times since he was caught cheating for the first time in 1988 at the Flamingo Reno for marking cards. As recently as last year, he was pla[...] Read more » Legendary Gambler Banned From Las Vegas Casinos
Kek, so let me get this straight. He is cheating and loosing too? This guy maybe not the sharpest tool in the shed but he probably did not loose those millions just made some nifty trick to hide it from the IRS. The banning story is just a sideshow, he will find just as many underground card outlets as legal ones in Vegas.

well as far as i understood he was winning while cheating, then he got a ban from several places and grew colossal ego due to massive wins... he woke up one morning and decided that he is an unbeatable dude at any casino table with or without cheating... and then he flushed his winnings down the drain.

In the early 90's he turned $50.00 into $40 Million, by cheating. Hmmm But they did nothing, even though they knew he was cheating. Hmmm Some casino's spend more then that in advertising and compting players each year. Hmmm Sounds like they used this as an advertising play to get players to come to vegas. Hmmm. Now that he's 64 and broke(almost) they have no use for him anymore, so they are baning him. Hmmm ???????? Another advertising play??? How much are they paying him to stay away?????

Yeah, but having a black book in the first place is not that great of an advertisement either. I imagine not just the cheaters are noted in them but the consistent winners too.

I am not really sure what to make of this guy, some say he was a great gambler while others accuse him of blatant cheating. If he has lost all of his $40 million winnings then I wouldn't describe him as a great gambler and some would say not to invest a portion of the 40 million is downright stupid. If he does try his cheating at private Vegas games then lets hope he picks his victims carefully!!
