On October 1, PartyPoker announced it will be prohibiting poker tracking databases including HUDs, seating scripts, and just about any other third-party software that was previously acceptable. The timeline: within the next few weeks. In a press release sent to PokerSoftware, we were informed that as part of the Poker for the People campaign, PartyPoker is making these drastic changes in hopes that they will "level the playing field for all players." The most major change will be that you will no longer be able to use a poker tracking database or a HUD on the site. PartyPoker actually went a step further here, as you will also no longer be able to download hand histories. It is speculated that PartyPoker took this extra step since poker tracking software relies on hand history files in order to populate databases. However, in this author's opinion, without players being able to review hand history files, more cheating and collusion could happen. It doesn't take someone with too long of a memory to remember the superuser scandal uncovered at Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker with the help of hand history files.

oh i loved ultimate bet by the way. it was my 1st poker site, so i kind of feel sth special about them, just like the 1st time i saw b00bs, the 1st time shave my balls or the 1st time i pooped in the street and slept near the "crime scene" since i was too drunk to move any further... oh the good times!

They have found for sure, that they are losing money by allowing these softwares to run Otherwise they would have let this go. I doubt that any players have ever complained to any poker sites about the tracking The end of the poker tracking comes to an end. A new era to poker

Ok i get that using huds and player tracker software can be bad, and they should ban them, but PP is already losing a lot of players and money with them to, so instead of focusing on promotions that can help them boost their player base, they seem to do the opposite, with new rules that would in the long run cost them even more players, so to be honest here, i don't see how those changes are a good thing for them

... < I for one am REALLY glad that they are taking steps to rid online poker of all this crap...!
... < Are folks there to actually PLAY poker,...or let devices make their minds up for them...?
... < Good on PP and anybody else who bans all this nonsense...! NOW,...PP just has to figure out how to get RID of ALL the 13,743 different F%$#ing GLITCHES that constantly occur in their software...

I think it is a good ruling to have,I have never used them but if I was playing lots of tables, full time as a professional I would definitely be using one of the tracking tools.I think all players should be on an equal footing.

When i was playing regularly i only used my personal notes in each site. After some point i meeting the same players over and over again i didnt need the notes either. That of course on omaha h/l where there is not a big player field.
But if you play holdem for example in another level, then personal notes are useless, and thats where HUD's made the difference.
