So, as many of you know, I am playing poker to fund my wedding in Vegas in 2017 and it although I am only slightly behind target, I am struggling and on a horrendous run that I just can't snap out of. I know it will be tough but I am determined that poker will pay for bills + hotel and I have a plan in place that will pay that. A spanner in the works is a close friend is getting married in Scotland, and that takes a chunk out of the budget. Hotels/flights/Scotland will cost approx. £5000 ($7500) and with a few savings we should hit that target (My savings budget including £100 a month from poker puts me at £5100).
Of course, we also have to pay for extras:
Wedding all in ($1500) Rings ($300) Passports ($300) Dress/Groom (God help us all!) $800 Spending money ($2000)
All in all that comes to approx. $4900 (£3240).
That is an awful lot to find in just 17 months and equals $288 (£190) a month needed extra.
I will keep my journey going here for any big wins and use this as a journal. £100 a month + £190 for extras = roughly £10 ($15) profit a day which doesn't sound so far fetched but we will see how it goes. The £100 has to be hit, anything more is a bonus.
I will be trying to use mob points to get the money for the rings so you will see an increase in posts from me from now on (shame they removed blogs, that would have come in very handy about now!)
I hope lots of you follow me, it is going to be VERY tough to hit and if I miss the target then I will simply not be able to get married.

Hey IQA......You are probably just going through a bad patch as I think you are a decent player,maybe you should just go for some big wins and try to satellite your way into the bigger games.On party there seems to be plenty of cheap tournies you can enter to win the $22,$55 or $109 tickets and you can convert party points into tickets as well. If you know the dates you are going have you thought about getting a new credit card with a 18 month interest free period and then booking everything early so you can get bigger discounts? you also get section 75 protection as well. I am sure you will manage to hit your target.

Ironically enough, I was just comin to post in this thread about the party sats, I found out about them yesterday through facebook and there is massive value in them.
I turned a $2 slot bonus into a $9 cash, bought into a $5.50 sat that led to a $22 sat. Cashed that for the $109 game and bubbled that. Annoyed with myself cause I could have sat out and min cashed for a decent payday ($225) but shoved with KK or something and A7 called and hit his ace.
I know I did the right thing though, I only need one big cash to hit my target

Don't worry about this type of bubble play, you can't just stop playing when you're close to the bubble. Of course it sucks when you lose, especially to a hand like A7 but if you win that hand maybe you win the whole thing, who knows.
Good luck funding your wedding with poker, having an objective is a good idea for a poker player

One question here. you are living in UK and you are planning your wedding in Las Vegas? Why? So many great places that you can get married. Even in UK. If it was about honeymoon only, i could get that. But not for the wedding

If we don't get married in 2017, there likely wont be a wedding. Friends are coming too so we will all need to book early, so just gotta hit the target.
Last night I managed to spike another $109 ticket. At the parents tonight so may not play it tonight but will try and win in again. The mega sats are only $5.50 and massive value.

Another close one in the $109 game, finishing 80th with top 60 paying. Still money being thrown at players from Party. There new bonus now is a deposit bonus a day for 5 days. IQA..... Wedding in Vegas sounds like the perfect thing to do. Good luck with your plans to build enough to pay for it through poker.... And I particularly love the fact that within your budget, spending money outweighs all other expenses..... A good time will certainly be had. And I would use that motivation to chill out and not play poker for the next few days, and let enjoying Christmas and all the wonderful things you do over the coming days assist to let you stop thinking about poker (including your perceived bad run) and just enjoy the stuff you do, knowing that poker WILL be there when you come back to it refreshed some time next week. Just let the bad streak drift away out of your subconscious and into the ether....and come back refreshed with no baggage.

If u missed the payed places with twenty then it was not that really close. Good luck for the funds, but Vegas is the most cliched places of all to get together...

You needed a bit more luck to be in the money on that one. You can hit many bonuses from your country so your options arent limited. Also i saw that you got a bonus in betting. Try to score some money there. I remember a goal you had in the past in betting and you did really good. Good luck.

i always thought expensive weddings are a bit overrated :x
i have somewhat similar, rather noble intentions. Im trying to raise $6,990 which should be good enough for me to get married too - but just ordering a russian bride is gonna eat a huge chunk of my money mind you (:

Yeah I got shafted on the party bet. I have a $10 free bet but they wont let me use it because I changed my party account from dollars to pounds, to avoid fees. They say free bets have to be done in the original currency.
May change back to dollars but then I have to start paying big fees again. I am going home tomorrow from my folks and will have a secure connection so will get on to support and see what's occurring.
Todays party offer is deposit $100 and get a free $22 brawl ticket so I will do that one for sure, that's some good value. Any deposit gives a $5.50 ticket (BRAWL5) and $100 deposit gives $22 ticket (BRAWL22)

Their reasoning for not playing the bonus is pretty lame. I doubt you changed the currency in your account, after you did receive the bonus, so i really wonder why they gave it to you in the first place.
It is like... look at what you could have got, if you were still paying for our fees

Yeah Mober that's it completely. They said over and over they couldn't give me $10 in compo or any tourney dollars. So I kept asking question after question and after about 90 minutes the woman suddenly decided to give me $10 Annoyingly I cant sports bet still but I do most of my betting elsewhere anyway.
I have officially bust now and I refuse to reload, so need to make £1200 in one year starting with just points/freerolls. I know I can do it but it will be a struggle.

Hi, not posted here for a while and a lot has changed.
Firstly we have decided to get married in Jamaica instead of Vegas.
Cash wise I started with zero on 2nd January
That now stands at $26 on Party ($1 free on the riddle today) £6 on Sky, (£1 on freeroll and grind up) £6 profit on stars (cheated slightly, deposited £20 with a view to immediate withdrawal once the 48 hour period is up, to grind the challenges and free cash)
