You can play poker for a living in all pokerrooms but I think most people who live of poker plays at the biggest pokerrooms such as Pokerstars, Fulltilt, Ipoker, Party,Ongame, Boss Media etc etc. They do this because the traffic is huge so they can pick easy opponents, probably get better promotions/bonus/rakeback at the large pokerrooms and somekind of safety having your bankroll in an old trust worthy room rather than a new unknown company. There are no limitations to how much you can earn it all depends on your game, level, game selection and time spend.

yes to make a living of online poker you would need 3 times minimum your current wage.1,to cover cost of living, life aint cheap,2,bankroll,you need money to play,3 you need downswing money, you cant always win even the pros have bad weeks months, you have to cover that.4.you need holiday money playing online everyday 12hrs plus do ya head in.so if you have all that, quit ya job and go for it.i have 1/3 of that just need 2/3 and i do it.just take patience.Good luck.
i don't know...because i don't play poker for living...Poker is a wonderfull game and i play it only as an hobby.. good luck boy but don't spend all your money..because you can lose all

Why limiting yourself to one site? If you want to win at the higher stakes table selection becomes more important. If not enough good games are running at one site just open up another one.
Personally I think only the big rooms make it possible to live from playing Poker. At Pokerstars I think if your a good SNG Player I recommend playing the Planet. and trying to get into the Top 100 of the low and the high Ring. For PartyPoker, I guess you mainly earn from cash games and fishes.

I don't think anyone said you should limit your self to 1 site that would just be stupid.

So is Cryptologic network or Ongame network. Just be prepared for a lot of bad beats.
I would have to agree with most posters that you would want to play at the bigger sites if you want to play poker for a living. I have noticed that on some of the smaller sites (no names mentioned) after a certain time, the ring game numbers drop off so you have to go somewhere else. The bigger sites also have more players - therefore more fishies, so most of the good players would look to take advantage of that. Also there is the security in knowing that the bigger sites will (supposedly) be around long enough for you to remove your money from them without too much delay. I have issues with sites that take up to a week to withdraw money from when it only takes a matter of hours (for me) at somewhere like Party ...

the best sites depends on differenct factors: What game you play At what stakes you play At What time you usually play How many hours a day you usually play
If you answer these questions i can tell you which is the best room for you... ( of course in my opinion)

If I was playing for a living, id never limit to one site, but think my main site to play would be pokerstars due to volume, if you bounce around a bit less chance of ppl taking to many notes, agin if, id need to pull in around 1k per week and at the moment my BR is 1,700ish so no chance of that any time soon. But to play for a living you should play as high stakes as you can.

Yeah, evryone says from big places "that's so awesome site to play" but it's not true! there is allways so many fishes and then there is so many after those fishes moneys!
so little poker site has some "random" players and biggest players don't go there because they just haven't those big and good games to play at there
If you want to make a living of poker you have to be commited to it. Study, play a lot of hands and be prepared to afront bad turns. But the most important thing is to have a very good ability to manage your bankroll.
