Returning to online poker  +1
Hi mobsters. It's been a very long time. I regularly look at the forum and visit this site every day but I've pretty much abandoned poker for the last two years or so.

I got bored of playing online. It was taking up a lot of my time and I was giving up other things to play poker. I would still go out once or twice a week to play poker live with mates, and I'd get more out of that than busting my bankroll online.

But now, I don't play live either. Can't remember the last time I played at all. I miss it though. I always enjoyed the game. I like the maths and logic involved. So I thought maybe I'd get back into some online poker, just one night a week. I'll play the brm calendar prize freeroll next week instead of taking the points and maybe get a bankroll on party if I cash.

The thing is, all my poker accounts are empty. They've been dormant for so long the sites took what little money was in them. I've just downloaded the party software on my new laptop and when I finally managed to reset my forgotten password I discovered there was not much I could do. There used to be freerolls twice a day but now they all seem to be points buy-in and of course I don't have any PP either. I know I could deposit or transfer from BRM but it wouldn't have allowed me to play straight away and I'm not sure I wanna waste money on party, never liked that site, not until I'm happy playing there.

I don't really know what my options are in poker sites, as I have accounts on so many, but I lost my list of passwords when my old laptop crashed, all my accounts are inactive and I don't remember my usernames, so I'd have to be careful not to double up accounts. Plus I have a mac, not windows, so that complicates things. May as well try party via the brm freeroll but I was hoping for a practice freeroll.

I look forward to next Sunday. I may be a bit rusty but don't judge me too quickly. You don't forget how to play, not when your a poker champion of my ilk lol. I have no idea what the online poker community is like these days. Seems like the old poker fad of a few years back when everyone played online poker has just about passed. So I wonder if the skill level has changed at all?

Still, I no longer have any desire to be an online pro, or even make some extra income, (a small cashout here and there would be nice) but I'd like to get back into it as a hobby. It's just a shame that all poker sites seem to punish you if you're not an addict or a bonus/rakeback grinder. Everyone else has to pay huge rake for promotions that you can almost never complete if you have a proper job. Anyone have any recommendations for a site that is best for casual players?

Welcome back on poker on line. if you start to build bankroll again I suggest play on new site such as
Duck poker, Poker Mira or Good day for play. You will get starting capital and not too hard win some money compare with PP, Poker Star or Fulltilt.

Good luck. Waiting good news from you Smile

Welcome back!

Try the 'Riddle' promotion on party casino (free gift every day, like the calendar on BRM). You can get lots of party points for free. You don't have to play any games for them either, and you can use the point to play poker...

------------
B.t.w. if you want to play the "King's pit" game hosted and sponsored by PokerKing next Saturday and/or Sunday, I'll donate the buy-in to you if you like.

And yesterday I finish ITM on both $500 (50 pp buy-in) and $250 (20 pp buy-in) Blink

And about my Home game on PS (King's Pit) here's the official thread if you want to llok at it.

Ok dude, 1st off welcome back.
2nd like u i have acc. on almost all of them, and all i can say, u dont get punished on Fulltillt if u r not a grinder rakeback player, partypoker has the riddle that u can make a lot of points for free which u can use later for some good tournaments with weak field of players...
3rd Stay the fak away from Pokerstars, they will punish u hard every time if u not a daily grinder, not kidding the suckouts and bad beats are unbelievable, so stay awaaaaaay from PS.
4th 888 Poker is very good with offers for regular players who put money on a regular base, they have very good promo`s, which u can take advantage of and make a bankroll in no time.
5th Stay for now away from Duckpoker, G4P, there are a lot of people who couldn't get their money out of those site`s.
Well thats in a nut shell what i have to say on this subject, hope u take not just my advice but others as well and make a well informed action on how to proceed further, best of luck m8, and may the poker gods be on your side on flop turn and river Thumbs Up

Welcome back. That was a big post there Smile

They inactivity fee is a pain and its silly. No site needs one.
But since it is common, take some time to cash out everything if you dont know when you
will play again.
Even if its a couple of dollars.
Its your money after all.
Good luck with your new start.

Thanks for all the advice. It was a very long op and I'm glad any of you bothered to read it. Just had a lot to say.

I can't seem to find this riddle promo. Checked on party's website but I can't find any such promo. There was some free card a day for new players but it requires a deposit.

As for Pokerking's home game, I don't think I've ever had a PS account as it happens. Don't know if they offer anything for new accounts and I can't see any brm bonuses for PS either. I've got a fulltilt account, which is probably empty. Might be worth looking at making an account on pokerstars.

@Mober - I agree the inactivity fee is a pain but to be honest I totally understand it. Why should the sites hold my money for years on the off-chance I return. If I wanted it, I only had to log in. But there has to be a cut-off point. I'm sure that they can only hold my personal information for so long and that one day they would delete my account and all record of me from their system. It must be quite expensive just to store all that vast information, imagine a warehouse of servers just for account names, identity, financial details, email address and passwords.

Welcome back awood..... Good to see you here again.

I agree with the comments re PartyPoker and PartyCasino as a good way to start playing socially and building a bank roll from essentially nothing. The riddle offers great value and before you know it you will be back in the swing of things. Look forward to seeing you at the felts soon.
