poker bot Posted on 03 February 2016 by "T".
A few days after PokerStars announced that they will be seriously implementing strong measures to prevent cheating amongst players, a bot-scandal suddenly reared its ugly head at the final table of Event #8 of its high-profile tournament festival, the TCOOP (Turbo Championship of Online Poker).
Even if these suspicions have not been thoroughly confirmed, a series of odd events that transpired dur[...] Read more » Russian Player Suspected of Being a Bot Makes It To PokerStars' TCOOP Final Table
Aaand this is why we don't make deals. Not even with a presumed pokerbot. Eventually 'our hero' took down the tournament and made 20% more money with it - he just wanted to make a deal 2 save time.

Or he never saw chat box. Many times I did cause chat box is very small for me and too fast. Even I know someone chatting I ignore it. Just make me busy for nothing if I had to check. Chat should be appear on the table.

what's the problem here- i mean i heard that poker pros are so good that they can read your cards from the sound of your fart, now they are complaining that there was a bot playing against them on the final table... doesn't that make it a complete victim... who can defend the rights of the bot... bot workers union, where r u?

And PS is the SkyNet of onlinepoker - it is known since years. Makes sense with this many bots in place.
"But only human players can tick the deal option as far as I know." Why would that be, bots can click all the other buttons, so it might just be a bug in the bot software that accidentally clicks the make a deal button. Most likely deal making does not occur when testing the bot software, so it's not far fetched that the bot may not correctly handle that situation...

why would you program bot to click deal option when he doesnt know to negotiate, and not even chat... it would be complete nonsence to make bot that can select "make a deal" box... I dont think bot could ever think close as good to play like professional poker player, I even doubt if they can make bot that can beat regular poker player, so its imposible to make bot that can end up on FT of this major event...

Nothing is impossible today,it may have been a glitch in the bot programing,or it could have been an underage person, who did not understand, but either way Ps phoned this person's home and no answer, but they are satisified, that this a real person account.....lol...of course its real person account..maybe this person was out partying at the time of the final table...lol...Ps the only place where you can have multiple accounts, and cheat, win and still get paid...

Yes there is something very strange in this case they tried to chat with him in English and even in Russian and never had an answer. They also tried by phone and no answer. After investigations they said that the account was a human account but never found who was playing on this tournament.
For sure it take a human to open an account and give informations and identifications but what he is doing with this account then will never know and Stars is paying.

You presume that the bot intended to click the button. I'm just saying, if it were a bot, that the programmer most likely did not account for the possibility of deal making, and the bot software simply did not handle this exceptional situation correctly.
I don't believe that it's very likely that there are bots that beat the field easily, but I do believe that it would be possible to program a bot that makes a profit. If that is the case it would not be too far fetched that once in a while it would win a MTT.

Nope, just a grinder gang spinning one account/alias while actually 4-5 different guys using it from the same house. It's not something unheard of.

Wow. The world has literally gone crazy. Who knows what the answer is, but like a certain resident of a rather large premise in London, England, who doesn't need to be there, he too decides not to come out and provide a rational explanation for his behaviour, but let's others take the flack for what they have or have not done.
Texas Hold'em is a pretty simple game, and a machine doesn't have emotions so it always makes rational choices. I'm sure there has been many successfull bots over the years that haven't been caught. But nowadays it must be getting harder and harder to do. And even if the bot makes good decisions, he still has to win the pots...
I don't think bots could make deals, but maybe the guy running the bot can take control to click it.
