Amaya Gaming, the owner of PokerStars and Full Tilt, shook up the online poker world this week by announcing that it will be merging the liquidity of both sites to run all games on one single network.
At least in the short-term, software-wise, things will remain somewhat the same. Players can choose between Full Tilt and PokerStars to play any of the games on the now larger network. This means you can have your cake and eat it too if you like the games on PokerStars, but if you like the table layouts and cartoon themed avatars on Full Tilt, you can play there instead.
The universal network should provide a boost to the liquidity on PokerStars, but how much is yet to be determined, as many of those playing on Full Tilt are also likely playing on PokerStars. That being said, it should help some of the lesser-played ring games and sit and gos run more often and provide some boost to tournament prize pools as well.
Also, according to a press release, Amaya is committed to running a "dual-poker brand strategy" between the two sites. It is reported that Full Tilt will continue to keep some branded differences such as Rush Poker instead of Zoom Poker and some of its own special tournaments.

Quite old news, and something that one had to expect after the decline in traffic at FT over the last yearor so. The whole switch to focus more on recreational players didn`t work so well for them. FT without Gus losing gazillions of dollars isn`t the same any more.

A bit of old news. But is there someone not seeing this as a possible move? It is a company and they will do everything they can to get more money. I have read about their rake increase, in another thread. I wonder why they did that lol

So wait, if i got this right...so FT is here to stay??? from what i read here it sure looks like that, so if thats true, then THANK UUUUUUUUU GOOOOOOODDDDDD even dou i am an atheist, but what can u do, old habit In the letter i got from FT they just said it was going to be an SOFTWARE UPDATE, which means no closing of FT, but then some where i read, they will first merge the player pool, and then kill FT, now i really dont know what to expect, for faaaaaaakkkkk sake... Ahhhh fak it, if FT goes in to history, then i will learn how to play on PP There is still choice out there, at least for now
I have noticed that the deal jackpot has not been hit in awhile something fishy going here Amaya getting more and more greedy most changes are for the bad and won't attract but detract new players.
Yeah, old news... I already played all the tickets and stuff I had at full tilt poker and deleted the program. I wasn't a big fan of the Full tilt poker 2.0 anyways, I prefered it before the black friday for some reason. I guess it has Amaya's stench all over it
I'll only deposit at stars when they have good deposit promotions which is quite rare. With that 4% rake increase, I'll definetly not be telling people to open an account there.
