StLouis-Chicago (3:1) 03:30 2,30 3,80 2,60 odds at super sport
Blackhawks team scope: Chicago will have to play without Andrew Shaw after the right wing was suspended by the NHL for one game and fined $5,000 for making inappropriate comments near the end of Game 4 on Tuesday. Shaw, who has two goals and two assists in the series, apologized for his actions before the Blackhawks departed for St. Louis on Wednesday afternoon. Chicago will be playing an elimination game for the first time since the 2015 Western Conference Final against the Anaheim Ducks before winning Games 6 and 7. "Well, we've just got to look back to what's made us a successful team over the last number of years," captain Jonathan Toews said. "There's some details that are present, and there are some that haven't been in these games that we have lost. Part of that is things that happen after the whistle; stuff that we've always done a good job of just staying away from and keeping it between the whistle, and just focusing our energy and our emotion in to the play that we bring on the ice. That's what we're going to need tomorrow night." The last time the Blackhawks were down 3-1 in a series was against the Detroit Red Wings in the Western Conference Second Round; they won the series in seven games.
Blues team scope: Defenseman Carl Gunnarsson is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. He did not play in the Game 4 victory, replaced by Robert Bortuzzo, who will stay in the lineup if Gunnarsson is unable to play. All four games have been decided my one goal. "Not much difference in this series, other than we've got a 3-1 lead," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "The scoring chances are the same, the quality chances are the same, the red zone chances are the same. Both teams' power play has a bead on the other team's penalty killing. Both goaltenders have been excellent. We've been able to score timely goals, which has really helped us. The biggest thing for us is we've had a collective response after some adversity in the last two or three games that has really given us a level of confidence that we're never out of it."

LAKings-San Jose (1:3) 04:30 2,20 3,80 2,70
Sharks team scope: San Jose stayed off the ice Thursday before flying to Los Angeles. "Today was just a recovery day," center Joe Thornton said. "Get a little weights and bike in. Get ready and be focused for tomorrow because that's all that matters now." The Sharks have used the same forward lines, defensive pairs and goaltender for the first four games, and DeBoer likely won't make any changes for Game 5. "I thought we got contributions from all 20 guys," DeBoer said of Game 4. "I thought all four lines came over the boards with energy and contributed, and that's when we're at our best."
Kings team scope: Most of the Los Angeles players stayed off the ice Thursday at their practice rink in El Segundo, Calif., but they had a meeting and spent time reviewing some special-teams breakdowns. "If you had two or three days, you'd do it different, but between games and travel, you're trying to get guys energized or in the right frame of mind," Sutter said. "I mean, heck, we were good last night. They scored on opportunities. We didn't." The Sharks have five power-play goals in the series and another goal in Game 1 that came one second after a penalty on Drew Doughty expired. The Kings have three power-play goals and a shorthanded goal. The Kings scored each of their goals in Game 4 at 5-on-5 in the third period. "I just feel we were more in the zone, we were on them," Kings forward Vincent Lecavalier said. "There was absolutely no hesitation in our game. It was fast hockey and the way we know how to play, so we've just got to do that."

NHL Playoff
Chicago-StLouis (2:3) 02:00 2,10 3,80 2,90
Blues team scope: St. Louis didn't practice Friday, electing to have players rest and fly to Chicago in the afternoon. The Blues have won three times in Chicago this month, including a 2-1 overtime victory on April 7. "I think the way that we've been playing in all the games is something that we take with us," forward Alexander Steen said. "I don't think that's something that ... I like defensively how sound we've been. We can be a little bit more assertive or hungry in the [offensive]-zone to create a little bit more chances offensively. I think to bring with us that defensive structure that we've had throughout the series is something we've got to look to do." Rookie defenseman Joel Edmundson may return after being a healthy scratch for Game 5.
Blackhawks team scope: Chicago will get Andrew Shaw back for Game 6 after the right wing was suspended and fined $5,000 for Game 5 because of inappropriate comments toward the end of a Game 4 loss. The Blackhawks did not practice Friday. "Throughout those first four games, you can say he was maybe our most effective forward," Kane said of Shaw. "He gets to the net. He scored a couple ugly goals around there and that's kind of something you really need in playoff hockey. So, we'll welcome him back with open arms. He's a big part of our lineup and plays with that energy and passion we all love to see. We're looking forward to him contributing in Game 6." Its likely that Shaw will replace Brandon Mashinter, who played 9:38 in Game 5.

NYIsland-Florida (3:2) 01:00 2,45 3,80 2,45
Panthers team scope: Gallant said Saturday center Nick Bjugstad is day-to-day because of an upper-body injury sustained during Game 5. Bjugstad lost an edge and fell face-first into the boards. He was not on the ice for the morning skate. If he doesn't play in the must-win game, Gallant said they will not promote a player from the American Hockey League. "He got looked at [Friday] night, he got looked at this morning like all the other players that are banged up, and then I'll know from there," Gallant said. "But I haven't been told he's not [playing] and I haven't been told he is." Forward Shawn Thornton is questionable because of the flu; he did not participate in the morning skate prior to Game 5. The Panthers slept in their own beds after the 2-1 double-overtime loss Friday before traveling to New York on Saturday. "It would be a lot more concerning if we weren't playing well, if we didn't play our game," Gallant said. "We've just got to bounce back, we had a day to travel [Saturday] like the Islanders are to get ready for a big game [Sunday]. It is what is and we've got to keep playing well."
Islanders team scope: New York originally was scheduled to head home immediately after Game 5, but opted to stay the night following its double-overtime win. The Islanders did not practice Saturday; this is the first time they've had a 3-2 series lead since the opening round of the 1993 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Washington Capitals. New York hasn't won a series since the second round that year, when they upset the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in seven games to reach the Wales Conference Final. The Islanders enter Sunday with a chance to end the hex in front of what should be a raucous crowd at Barclays Center. "To me, it's all about our fans and the atmosphere that's going to be in that building," Capuano said. "We have to feed off our crowd, and that's the big thing. We've just got to come out and play a simple first 10 minutes. We haven't had much success with the starts at home, for whatever reason. But I think the guys know exactly how they have to play, and it's a situation where we're not going to say too much as coaches. We're just going to let them play within the team concept and go out and have some fun and try to close them out if we can."
