so pokerstars have this promotion that get me playing more omaha
so i lost this hand and i don't know how i lost the minimum here
i was definitely planning on raising the river but it went check check check
being on an early position saved me for losing a lot here

I am not an Omaha specialist or ay other game but i just don't understand what you are meaning about the minimum.

If you are asking why the guy did not bet is quad queen IMO it is because you were two calling his little bet on the turn . So he just though that one would bet the river and he would have raised.

I suppose you both had the same though of trapping but i really don't understand the guy with only one player left IMO he should at least put a small bet you were lucky if you had the intention of a raise. Big Smile

With quads over quads he could easily have lost his complete stack here. But as anybody was busy trying to fool the other players in the hand, it ended up a rather smallish pot. Especially for Omaha.

SKPMORITA .... It definitely looks like you were both playing a game of hoping the next player will call, based on the betting pattern on the turn, however, the player with quads q's was way ahead and maybe a small bet may have been a better option for him..... For you, doing nothing, and everyone else doing nothing too saved you a whole lot of chips.

that is right guys
i was probably going to lose my whole stack on the river
on the turn i would insta fold a raise
on the river however i was ready to get it in thinking i might be against KK AA
even in omaha Quads vs Quads is rare

Maybe it's just me but there is no way i'd be checking quad 6's there.

I would check the quads sixes
I would raise small the quad queens due to the lack of action

He was gambling on inducing a bluff on the river, but such a small chance of a bluff there on a board like that.

You got lucky, if he had even put in a minimum raise on river, you were losing your whole stack, there would have been no getting away from it.

Nice hand though Smile

How you didnt go bust on this hand i will never know. It must have been obvious that someone had a six when the turn bet was called. I would have pushed all in myself on the turn but i am no expert in Omaha

I guess your faces would look something like Phil Ivey does at the end of this clip, well worth watching from half way through and one of my favourites

I always look like that or equivalent anyway, bemused, shocked and speechless, wondering how did such-and-such (my perceived) bad beat happen, did I play it wrong? Of course you did, you're at the bar!
