... < Hey guys,...I'm on Step 8 of 25... When you click on the little StarsCoins progress bar to see your status,...this among other things,...appears in red... Anybody know what it means...? Do you automatically get extra coins...?

it just written in red that you have to complete your current step...you dont get any extra coins.
except when you reach half your steps, on gold status, then you get some extra coins. didnt pay attention on other vip levels, but i guess you get it on other levels too.
if you dont complete the current step at end of month, then you only get 50% starcoins. they steal you the other 50%. shame but only of the incomplete step.

Yes and if you Need more Details, yo can read it on the stars/ft website. There you can find all informations about the vip program. You get also a part of stars coins when you not reached the next level.

It says if your step is not completed at the end of the month you will received 50% of the prorated value of incomplete.
IMO if you have a 45 step and at the end of the month and you have only 10% completed then you will get 50% of 4.5 coins i supposed rounded so you will have 3 coins.
And then you go on Full Tilt and you play them in the coins (rake) eater the Deal.
