i have a feeling that this la liberte dude is seriously obsessed with winning this tourney, so much in fact that he (me ponders) on purpose created the rule which says "no professional poker players allowed to enter the tourney". this way he weeded out the serious competition and now he thinks that with some coaching from a top poker pro he can run away with this tourney.

The rules here are all around stupid, does not really understand the true purpose to ban pros from participating but not 'really' banning them to participate at all...

No one that will play this tournament really need the money of the prize pool and i would not be surprise that the winners will give a big part to charity.

It is only billionaires trip of a poker tournament and coached by pros. I don't see any problem there. Big Smile Big Smile

Daniel Negreanu course a great poker player ... if I could have something to learn from him the game ... on the other hand, you can just look at his game and draw conclusions ... even though many of the greatest players allow dosing errors .. most importantly to reduce to a minimum

Seems weird that Guy Laliberté needs coaching at all. First he's a really smart guy and second he used to play high stakes poker and he did pretty well for an amateur considering the level of play there.

Anyways, I'm sure he can learn a thing or two from Daniel about MTTs. He's probably not used to the bet sizing and positions/ranges of good MTT player nowadays. Just needs to know what the "standard" is.

Honestly, neither his opponents. If really just true hobby pokerist billionaires gonna participate then this game wont be that hard to crack IMO.

ok if this is only for charity and an extra million or two is not that important since all the participants are going to be billionaires who are dyeing from boredom and scratching their heads where they can dump their cash... then why the hell does someone need coaching from a poker pro? let just roll with it and whoever wins just ships cash to some charity and all cool... but i reckon that laliberte badly want to win this... maybe not for cash but for prestige...

So how that works exactly? is it pre tournament advices, or like they are showing them the
cards the time of the actual game and asking for advice on how to play the hand?
Cause if this is the case, then the players will act as avatars for the pros Smile
