PartyPoker Introduces Anonymized Hand Histories  0
Last month PartyPoker announced it would be introduced big changes to how it was recording hand history files in ring games.

These changes were implemented on October 5, which anonymize player names in the hand history files. So instead of seeing a player name when reviewing hand history files, PartyPoker players will now instead see it listed as “Player 1”, “Player 2”, “Player 3”, etc. The only exception to this is for the player itself with the hero’s name being listed in full.

So what? Its not like they will anonimize players notes and all that, this is just making harder buliding databases of your frequent opponents.

it certainly will create some inconvenience for those who are trying to calculate your game and beat you this way ... this way I never thought to try to win, so for me it's more good news ... and I think I have in this forum somewhere already read the news it

This is definetly a step in the right direction. If the stats aren't made public, then bots can't analyze our game while we're playing. Because that's basically what's happening right now. Bots analyze your game (fold%, 3bet % etc), then people will pay a monthly fee to be able to see these stats live and even have the program tell them what it thinks is the best option at every point of a hand.

I think it's just sad that people use these programs and don't think it's cheating. These people are either hypocrits or really really stupid.

All these tracking sites must be losing customers. As they should, long time ago now.
besides they were ruining the game for too many players, they were getting paid for doing
absolutely nothing, than taking the history from the poker clients.

Bad news for so-called bum hunters, bots, semi-bots, and bot miners. There certainly will be a mass exodus of these players or operators to the other online poker sites where they can utilize their integrated databases, statistics, and in-game HUDs.

Online poker versus real life poker. How do you keep your notes? Do you play live poker? Do you have a computer to hand that instantly stores everyone's hand histories so that you can review them? If you have then I am sure you are making a whole heap of money out of it. Enjoy your game,

ah well, forget all this ring game nonsense, go play a tourney, spin and go lottery watch some porn, drink vodka, smoke weed and enjoy your time. ring games are a dying breed, much better to spend this money in a live poker match than to risk being raped by a hoard of bots.

Yeah you're right it's just for ring games. That's sad! I thought it would be for multi table tournaments too. Because no one watches other tables trying to get information on their game anyways... So mostly the bots are going to keep doing what they're doing for MTTs.

Seems like a half measure to me. If they're aware of the problem they should find a way to solve it all!

Most, if not all of them works as affiliates too and generating revenue by showing ads next to the stats.
Those players who are willing to shell out money for reading into other users stats is really just a small percentage of an already small fraction - so they were never the core/key revenue stream for this particular business model.

Anonymized Hand histories are a good way to have fair chances at the cash table. To much Players with tracking Software dominate the tables and it was better that all Players at the table have the same Chance and informations about their Opponent.
